Well again guys, thanks for the advice. I apologize for posting a thread that got so political so fast. Shoulda known better, lol. Anyway, I've made my decision. If it works out and if I have time, I may shoot this guy an email and see if it works out to do his car. But that most likely wont happen, I've got my client base who have some cars they may want done, and I'm very busy now anyway. I'll prioritize those who I know will give me good business and do what I need to do to keep them as clients. I've got school coming back up and need to focus on that more than anything.
I post no stickers on my truck or in my shop. If I was to enter a business that was plastered with political or religious posters that I wasn't in agreement with, I most likely would choose another vendor. We saw a good example of this with Chic-Filet this past year. I'm all for free speech but the customer is also free to shop elsewhere. People are know to take these kind of things personally and spend their money accordingly.
Well said, Chick filet is a perfect example of why politics shouldnt enter the business atmosphere (even though in this instance it worked out pretty good for Chick Filet) And also, to the OP. You cant post something like this that obviously has to do with politcs and not get political! :thumb: No amount of bumperstickers, face to face arguments (unless you have enough of them) can constitute changing someones opinion of how they think and believe. I think its great that you are proud to be who you are and what to express yourself through bumperstickers. Personally i hate bumperstickers when they are over done and plastered all over the vehicles but thats MY opinion. But as soon as you use your vehicle for business this stuff has to come off, seriously. Even if you dont do this job i would clean it all of anyway since it sounds like you are trying to do detailing on the side. Yeah its great that you have a customer base but you need more customers if you ever want to grow. Stickers like what you have is a great way to alienate half of potential clients My mini is not only my sales and service vehicle but i also use it for personal stuff. I made the decision that in september when i got my Romney Ryan sticker that it was only going to be used as my personal vehicle ONLY until november, it didnt go out once for one sales or service call.
I think most all bumper stickers are tacky. Keep it clean and simple. I apply this logic to personal, and especially business vehicles. For every individual that may think your bumper sticker is funny, witty, clever, smart, accurate, supportive, etc...I figure there is at least a handful of individuals that disagree. You're always subject to offending someone sensitive. That doesn't make either party right or wrong. Just ask yourself...do you really want to put that possible barrier between yourself and potentially an otherwise successful business relationship? At the end of the day, it's your vehicle, do as you see fit. No internet thread could tell you what to do.
