I use and sell Poorboys and Werkstat towels with no linting problems. I wash with Microrestore and always use the extra rinse option. Into the dryer on medium heat - 2x20 mins with a cool down in between.
ive never had any problems with linting regarding my ubers except my no name ubers. @ken, i got one of those green poorboys towels that you included in an order i placed not long ago and its by far my favorite MF. shame i only have the one. when i order up some more CWC i'll be grabbing a dozen of those bad boys for sure.
Pakshak (except for the green monster, which is the same as the DD no name) and the Gladiators from Justin FTW.
automagic Cherry bubbles in the kitchen sink is all I use and literally ill put what i think is a clean towel in and the water will be black withing a minute of agitating or so and i never have fiber issues.
I have a toploader to wash towels and such. We have a frontloader in the house. Should I try that??UOTE=Fahrenheit 451;175965]What type of washing machine are you washing them in? Top loader or front loader?[/QUOTE]
Funny you should mention that because my Pakshak green monster is one of my three that lints. I love the towel but can't use it because it lints so bad.
Yes, as a good front loader is by far much gentler than any top loader. I use our Miele front loader and so far have not had a linting issue. It's worth a try on your part since you have one.
I recommend Justin for your mf needs. All 30 of my Uber 16x16 towels were demoted to interiors/wheels some time ago. Only ragshack mf touches my paint now! I replaced my ubers with Justin's ultra premiums. They are firmer than the Ubers, so they do a better job at removing polishes. I also have like 10 of the Super Fly's. They are probably my favorite all purpose towel. I love keeping a couple in my car with my travel detail kit. And the Shag rags are GREAT for QD's, and buffing off simple waxes (like lusso oro). Doesn't fare so well against the likes of RBOE, but I just use Super fly's or ultra premiums for those hard to remove waxes.
Out of fairness to Phil and to thank Ken, I had to bring this thread back to life real quick!!! Ken suggested 2X20 minute drying with a cooldown in between - worked like a chram. Started a car yesterday with the newly dryed towels and not a scrap of lint!! So, that said, the Ubers I have seem to be doing fine. And, with all the suggestions, I'm gonna give a few other MF towels a run to capare and explore options. Thanks!!! Andy
My red ubers also lint quite badly....But not all the time :shead: I think it might have something to do with either the detergent, or the wash/dryer settings
No offense to ubers, but why have mf's that take so much xtra work? Over time with how much you're drying them, the become quite expensive.
I tried the drying method mentioned in this thread and my ubers are lint-free ... I appreciate the advice guys.
I have some of the No Name Ubers and they lint like crazy. However, they are by far one of my favorite towels for QD'ing. Guess I am going to have to try Ken's suggestion with drying. I always rack dry my towels and they throw them in for a bit with some dryer balls.
