alright chri i need tour extertiese again. i have run into a snag the other night I had to turn down the heat in my house,my bro had people over and hey were getting hot so they opened a few windows... being the heap guy i am i turn the furnace off.. im not heating the world sorry... so i didnt turn it upfor a couple days, my bro hates the cold so i can bug him with it. last night before going out i checked on the second batch of wine,I did a test with the hydromiter. It didnt look good. This time around there have only ben small bubbles that make a fzzing sound, but there is no film like last time. so i gave it a good stir tore suspend the yeast and warmed up the house. i am wondering if he yeast will come back? should i go buy more yeast? or have i wrecked the whole bacth? thanks for the info
ok crisis averted... i checked the wine again today.. the hydromitor is reading .9 now. so it has gone up in the last 24 hours. its bubbling alittle more so it should be good to go in the next couple days.. i hope... but it looks like we are good again.....
Thanks Polo...... perhaps when you turn 18 you might be able to try it ;D so quick update, the second batch of wine was ready to get thrown into the carboy today. So now I have two wines in the carboy's on step two. In 6 days (so sunday) the first batch will be (well should) to add some more chemicals... is getting closer to wine.. it smels more and more like wine everyday (yeah i know... i feel like tom smell stuff) One thing i have noticed is how merky the wine is. I know there is something I add later to make it clear, but its really intersting watching the wine transform... I sure its nots to to bad... i want to make it again but dont need 90 bottles... Batch one is 14 days in so its half done, 2 more weeks and I should have wine. i dont know what else to say, thats a quick update of where I am...
ok update... everything is still in the carboy, I have had a small glass of each and there not the best to say the least.... i have become spoilt by the wine i have at my folks place (dads a wine collector) so its a hard drink to drink... although i have some friends who say its awsome stuff.. so the jurry is still out Its gettting better with each passing week, the second batch is way better then first so im sure with some time and experience everything will work out fine, i just need to suck abck 30l of the not so good stuff. so there the update, sorry for the long delay
