Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some just happen to have the wrong one! jk:p:

The first time I ever used a rotary I picked up a Hatichi. It didn't like me too much and vice versa. Then someone handed me a Makita. Less than a week later I bought the Makita. Even being a smaller person the Makita felt perfect in my hands.
The switch took a little getting used to because it takes just a little bit for the Makita to get up to speed. That turns out to be a pretty neat feature because you can minimize splatter. Then again Nica already mentioned this.

just to throw a spanner in the works, ive tried a dewalt and found it bulky, the makita is a great bit of kit but i have a flex L1503VR 5" Variable Speed ...is the same compact size of the PC yet its a rotary.
weighing in just a touch heavier than a PC its fantastic and is so easy to use.
