I'm glad someone else agrees with me on this. I always felt like I was swimming against the current when I didn't rave about the riccardo.

I wouldn’t expect to have any product that pleases 100% of users. Riccardo Clay is mild clay and should not be expected to perform miracles. We find Riccardo Yellow is fairly Lube dependant and with a slippery lube or a soapy mixture the clay just slides around. 95% of our customer prefer mild clay and Riccardo fits their needs. Many companies used the same yellow clay before us (Zaino, Mothers, Pinnacle, Optimum, Smart Clay, Erazer etc etc etc) mainly because again it fits the bill of most customers.

We are also expecting samples of a Blue Riccardo shortly which is supposed to be more aggressive.

I have never used the Riccardo clay but I have opti-clay. Opti-clay is very elastic.

I agree..Riccardo is for finesse claying...(not so bad of a contamination)..its a nice clay you can use any time you need to clear a area while washing.....the Blue AM clay is a good clay to use for moderate paint cleaning..I use this one alot....if i need more bite i use the red one....but expect some marring from it....so use before a polishing for heavy contamination removal...

I have had this happen to many clay bars. Not all clays will work well with any clay lube or soapy mixture. It does not make the clay crapola, you just need to try a different lube.

I'm glad you said that. Now I have other options if something were to happen. I did not know that...:applause2:

Also different lubes will make the clay more/less aggressive. I sell some clay lubes that work well with the same brands clay but make other clays so mild they do almost nothing. Most of the time you can water the lube down actually making the clay bite better.

Since we are talking about clays. Anyone like the Bilt-Hamber clay? Or the Optimum clay that is no longer available in the states?

I like the Bilt-Hamber clay. You can use water as lube

So is this new blue Riccardo going to be only available in Canada as well?

Yes. It will be made by the same company that makes the Riccardo Yellow. The only way I can sell clay in the USA is if we got Auto Wax company to make us some. There would be no point because their clay is already available in the USA in 30,000 colors. :)
