None at all, other than a PD fanboi giving it large, innit?
I know of at least one person who would put Paul and others to shame, and when I think about it some more, there's a plethora of people who are highly skilled but don't bother with the internet, especially after a hard day painting and polishing in the bodyshop they own/are employed at.

As someone pointed out above, perception is the reason, and that's as a result of marketing - and I know (as would many by now) how that all came about, and who was behind it.
With Paul as the brand, the person behind the scenes through him, lit a spark within many people - and let's not forget the number of Concours winners and participants long before this modern era - which has over the years made it as widespread as it is.

    +1

Marketing is the most powerful tool in all professions.

We on this forum know products like Nu Finish and Turtle wax are garbage. However, the consumer doesn't always know about what else is out there.

Paul is a member of this forum. Why don't you just ask him?

I would have to agree with you togwt...:thumb:

If he helps one of us then he will have to help all of us and there sure are alot of us. The fair thing to do is help none of us. I tried putting myself in his shoes and this is what I came up with. The unfortunate truth.

Paul does amazing work on amazing vehicles. I admire his drive and attention to detail, I also admire this about Dave in Scotland and Ken and Nica in Canada. Do I wish he would do a write up? Sure. Will my life end if he doesn't? Absolutely not. The few times we have communicated he has been receptive and friendly. I don't think you can ask for much more than that.

Paul is not a touchy subject, Paul is a member of this site. Some may not like him, but he is a member here and as such will be treated with respect. In all honesty, your behavior is more then a little reminiscent of a troll. Why would you want to post a thread that would cause possible division and isolate one member of the site? You seem to forget that Paul is an actual person, not some entity.

This thread should be locked, but that is just my opinion.

Agreed. This thread has no where to go but downhill. As a contributing member and paying more than any of us have to the board, I'm surprised it's gone on this long.

It's Nica's board, though. And ultimately his call.

I'm not saying it's a touchy subject. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Do I think he's good. Yes. The best? No. There are a lot of good detailers around the world. Some use the internet, some don't.

There are some people on here that turn out some awesome results, and just do it on the side for the love of it.

I think trying to say a top of the line professional is the best can be very disheartening to us "rookies" or "weekend warriors", when to me those are the ones that make the detailing world go 'round. Plus, there could be a guy in some small town in BFE that could turn out some of the best work you'll ever see, but maybe he likes the lack of attention a stage like this can bring. Popularity can be hard, and harmful for some people.

I would just like to see this thread stay respectful and that no one gets upset, pissed, or offended. I hate seeing threads get shut down over petty. Hence my above post.

    Wow!! :)

Sorry I don't do write ups guys, I wish I had the time, but lately I have been working 6am-9pm 7 days per week for the last 4 months since I have had my studio. Doing a good write up with photos etc takes time, and I don't have spare time. I am constantly working and sleeping. Everyday I do a detail on something,at the moment I am preparing 2 Morgan Aeromaxs for a Concours event at the end of this week, and considering I am spending 18+ hours on each one, I kinda of gotta keep working and earning the money, specially at a rate of £75+VAT per hour, and yes, I charge hourly for all my work.

Anyway, nice to see the first flaming thread on DB about me, I knew it would come one day...
