What could have happened?

I traded a pot of SV Onyx with barrym for a new liquid Souveran and 5 CCS 6.5" pads. I got the stuff today and I did what any detailer would do. I opened up the Souveran to smell it! Well, for a brand new, sealed container (like he advertised) the top had some dried wax on it..then the foil cover to the wax was hanging off and not intact. Then I went to smell the wax and it smelled like kerosene! What happened here? So I looked at the wax. It was all seperated and funny looking, I tried shaking the container and looking inside. Nothing. The contents were still separated. So, I poured some out. The first thing to run out was water. Yep, water! Wow..did they really add that much water to liquid Souveran? So I decided to let the wax just pour out. Check out these pictures:

What does it look like to you guys? It looks to me like I got ripped off. Pretty shitty if you ask me.

Let me know what you think. I will gladly send the Souveran to someone to see what they think, but I pretty much have seen all I need.

Did you try shaking it before you opened it? See if it says to on the label.

I wish I had any experience with it to help you out...hopefully someone that does will chime in...

Its from the polycharger. That's normal.

All the lsps that I have that come pre polycharged all have horrible seperation issues.

    Liquid Souveran

I don't know why this happens. On the bottle it says to shake well right on the top.

Its not an issue when applying it though. I guess they put just a little less polycharger in it than the "normal" dosage so its still useable after 48 hours but the seperation must be a side effect of this.

Just shake it really really good, there will still be some slight slight seperation but its all good.

Um that's not kosher at all.

The person that sold this should have said that it's been "polycharged" and not advertised it as new and unopened.

Oh and you must not have shaken it good at all.

While shaking it, it will feel like there is a solid object inside. You'll slowly feel this dissolve away. Once it feels like there nothing left of this "object" is when its ready.

Like I said there will still be some oil seperated but this is normal.

I know PCed solvent based lsps will solidify after a certain time so I guess this is what's happening but the oil/less dosage of PC allows it to still be shaken and turned into a liquid.

No the person didn't polycharge it, it came from AG like that. If you look at one of the pics you can see that it has the polycharged label on the top. That being said I think its nothing more than needing to be shaken up really well. This may take a lot of vigorous shaking but I beleive it will take care of it. I've seen lots of detailing products seperate when not used and just takes some mechanical massaging to get it back to its orginal state.

Oh and I would hope you have tried to sort this out via PM with the seller before calling him out in the public forum first.

when the "sealed" package is open, yeah I don't bother trying to get lied to again by the same person.

When I get home I can post pictures of all my polycharged products if it makes you feel better.

Your pictures look exactly how it looks when not shaken all the way

I shook it like crazy and it got somewhat better, but it still does not seem right. Besides the opened top..I dunno.

It separates a second after you stop shaking it, not at all like they show on the Souveran video..lol..I think I am going to toss this stuff.

No offense, but you have guys here who've been at this MUCH LONGER than you, telling you it's ok.

    Lighten up.

Or if you are going to just toss it, toss it in a box and send it to me :D

I'm not exactly upset, lol..if I am out the price of Onyx minus the 5 pads I got, it will not kill me.

I'm not saying you shouldn't at least be concerned, but you could've done this via PM first to hear Barry's side of the story.

    That's not cool bro.

The bottle was definitely sealed when I sent it. I even took a picture of it before I posted the trades up. I will upload the photo as soon as I get home from work.

I did not add anything to the bottle. Polycharger is added by the manufacturer. There is even a little sticker on the lid of the bottle that says something like: "Now with Polycharger".

I know there is a sticker, but that bottle was opened and the foil was just sitting in the cap. Either way, I am not too concerned.

It is possible the foil was loosened by heat, moving around in the package, a lunar eclipse. Then when you unscrewed the cap, the foil came off in the process. I've seen it happen before.
