What color is it?? 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix paint correction

    Did you Labor last weekend?? Our labor of love continues on. This is the wife's car of the F-150 I just did a post on. 2005 with over 160,000 miles! Both jobs were just exterior's only. How cool to have brand new looking rides by Monday morning!! Onward....prep was just a wash, Sonax wheel cleaner,and full Iron-X decon...

    Onto paint condition...most of it was like this...hood...

    Sometimes when looking at what approach we want to go with, our gut instinct is usually right. I decided to go with my Makita rotary on slowest speed setting, a Smart white waffle foam cutting pad # SBP281 and Meguires 205 mixed with water, 70% Meg's 30% water.

    I just did some random test sections 50/50 style...

    After three quick passes...and I mean quick!! This combo cut's so fast that I was only spending 30 seconds per section. I would take my distilled water and spray surface and steam would rise. Had to stay very very focused!!

    In order to get into tight areas, I pulled the rear spoiler off...10 years of crud..

    So just what color is it?? Who knows?? I just enjoyed another amazing correction and challenge!! Upon pick up clients were very pleased indeed and she kept saying it's beautiful, just beautiful!! I should have got a photo of both their detail outcomes together...oh well. Thank you for enduring these long, picture heavy posts!! I really enjoy sharing info, tips and knowledge! Detail on people and live your dream!!

    Outstanding! Excellent work! What a turn around and save! They must have been not even able to recognize their own car upon pick up! Very nice. Don't know what color without the assist of Mr Google. LOL
