Yep, wool cuts a lot better/ faster and really makes the surface nice. However, on a composite car Ill try to avoid using wool at all costs. If you've done a composite car then youll know what I mean. I should of taken pictures after using foamed wool and SIP on the black Bentley. But you're right, sometimes you do have to make the surface worse in order to correct it.

On that silver Audi on my site, Asphalt Rocket finished with no holograms or buffer marks using wool and PG. So it all depends on the paint you're working with.

Nica i can work wool over any steel vehicle with power Gloss or something comparable and 95% of the time finish LSP. Thats just from doing it so long. I can do this on a composite type car with wool sometimes, just depends on how bad the finish is. Yes wool flattens everything out and gives you the best surface to start your polishing process, but on these composite cars i bet you 95% of the people are going to have buffer marks. You can not approach these type of vehicles like you do a steel one at all. All I can say is practice and be very patient. Idont care who you are you are going to finish LSP with wool on these vehicles.

That's interesting, I look forward on doing some composite vehicles, thanks for the tip D&D

I like using wool it's fun to use but I need lots of practice to finish LSP with wool, so far I've been using wool to flaten out the paint and then go back to foam to bring it back but I should stop going back to foam and just keep trying...practice makes perfetc doncha know :thumb:

Well I don't know about perfect but if you don't try you'll never know..at least that's how I feel about it.

Absolutely Nica, like I said above it took sometime to get the skills to that level. Just on a composite vehicle wool than foam. All I use is wool, once in awhile finish with foam. Been using wool forever, it is the only way to go if you want to get the best result out of a finish.

The only thing I don't like about wool is the size of the pads...well I can now get 6inch wool pads and those I'm waiting for to arrive, but localy here in town all I can get is 8inch wool pads and I'm not a big fan of the 8inch size pads..I don't mind them but I prefer the 6 or 5inch pads.

I dont mind the size of the wool pads, but i would not reccomend a foam pad that big, they cause damage way to quick.
