So I ordered Werkstat stuff and I got Prime, Prim Strong, Acrylic Jet & Glos. But.. which is prime and prime strong? They're both labeled "prime" but I know they're different because one is darker than the other. Is the darker of the two prime strong? :shead:

    Thanks!

I love their products.. I have everything they sell.

Prime. is an AIO a cleaner, a slight polish and also a sealant too, the prime 'strong' contains 125% of the normal compounds as the regular prime.

Now here is a trick to this.. once you get it, if your like me,, you might end up putting down too much of everything right? After All a little is good, so Shirley more will be better.

When it comes time to buff it off, and this is for each product it will be harder than normal. I use the products in the bottles, BUT when I go to buff it off, I begin to squirt it with the Jett sprays and then it comes off very easy.

Go to their site and start reading on each product to familiarize yourself with it... I use this all the time on light and dark finishes.

How much corection can be expected from Prime?

    Zip. nothing, nada..

Don't even look at it as such.. just look at it as a base for the gloss layers you will be laying down

I'm still having a lot of trouble out of their Carnauba products - Carnauba Jett and Carnauba Glos. Today's case has been Carnauba Jett.

Freshly washed Honda S2000, that hasn't been corrected in about 6 months, but still looks pretty good. Rather than go through the whole process with clay/polish/etc, I decided to just give it a quick "top up" with some Carnauba Jett. I'm following their directions precisely. 70 degrees outside, in the shade, paint is cool to the touch. Shake, spray, spread thinly, buff, turn the towel (I was using a dedicated "dry" towel for this), buff again.

I can't for the life of me get this stuff to be completely haze free.

This is the third time I've tried using this stuff - the "Glos" QD behaves in the same way - and I'm about to put it up for sale. I just can't seem to get it to work properly. Does anyone have any suggestions for something I might be doing wrong?

FWIW, I have never had a problem getting AJT to buff off completely clear.

Would you say Prime Strong's cut is similar to that of Poli Seal?

I assume it's a dark colour, and since it's 70 now.. it hasn't froze on you before.. Sorry to hear. Pictures maybe? Sometimes a product works wonders for one person, but not another.

I myself have never used Poli-Seal.. afraid I'm not much help on that. I just like their products but can't answer a lot of questions on it.. I believe 911fanatic knows a lot more about it than I.

Dark silver, lots of flake. I'll be futzing with my two cars tomorrow, and will post some pictures of the haze, assuming I can capture it. Here's the color, with just RBOE sitting on it:

It's tough to see unless you get your face right up on it - but then, it's obvious. The way the light reflects on this stuff changes every time I pass a towel over it, so I know there's something there - I just can't get it off. It "moves around," if you will.

No freezing that I'm aware of. The stuff lives in my garage along with everything else, but nothing in there has ever frozen.

Last time I had this trouble out of Carnauba Jett, I ended up stripping the car completely, and starting all over. I'm sort of hoping to avoid that this time...

Hey guys, i can share my experience with Acrylic Jett. I was mortified by this stuff and almost stripped it off at first. I applied decently thin and then grabbed my Pakshak ultra plush towel and got absolutely nowhere getting it off..it was like it wasnt even removing it. I then spritzed the panel with CG speedwipe and grabbed my Shag Rag..and it came off beautiful...it looks nice, decently slick and good reflections. I think change your towel and you will have an easier time..some work better for certain occasions..normally i dont use the shag rag for wax removal.

I have used Acrylic Jett Trigger. Using it is very similiar to using a QD. Basically spray, wipe, (I wait about 20 seconds) then buff off with a dry towel.

Great results for me using this method.

I have the AJT but I haven't tried it yet (no surprise there). I'll have to give it a shot on my Integra.

I've never had any trouble out of AJT. It's only the Carnauba sprays that give me fits.

I'll try and help you out with this. I'm not sure why you're having problems with CJett. We'll assume the car is washed and dried and sitting in a cool place out of the sun. Trying to apply this stuff in the sun is the kiss of death. On your S2000, I would spray the front fender with ONE even spray, trying to spread it out as much as possible. With a folded MF, spread the CJett in a slow, methodical fashion. I don't want your neighbors dialing 911 because you're flailing around like you're having a seizure! Once the CJett flashes off, it takes a bit longer than AJT, flip the cloth over and buff off. Another way I have had success with is to wipe back and forth a few times to spread the product around and then, while its still a bit wet, flip over your MF and buff off. You'll go through a few more towels but if it works.... The trick with Werkstat stuff is to keep your buffing towel dry. If its got any moisture build up on it, you won't be able to get it to buff out completely. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Ken. Sounds like I was using too much of it - everything else I did checks out. I had one dedicated, dry, good quality MF towel by my side for removal, since it's given me fits in the past.

It wasn't something easily spotted - the haze was shown only in certain, odd lighting conditions. I recently noticed it in the pitch dark, via the reflection of the street light across from the house. It looked like I'd forgotten to buff some wax off the car.

I'll let you know what happens next time I try it - which means I won't throw the stuff away just yet

With the Jeffs stuff, less is definitely more. One spray on each fender, two on each door. If you don't think it covered everything, wait 30 mins and give it another coat.
