I agree with PJS on this one. I tried topping it just for grins and it just didn't play well. The AB by itself is incredible looking and I was just trying to get that little extra umphh that it really didn't need. AB is and will always be a staple in my aresenal. And I've used it on trim with no adverse affects as Karl and I discussed on the phone yesterday.

Hey Karl at least I know I was on the right track with what I told you to try. Like PJS I really think this will work and your hypothesis on the incompatibility makes sense as well as I've seen ES spot on its on when it gets on trim and doesn't get washed off well.

We have our answer. And, no real surprise...Ken was right.

I'll wait until I get permission from Pete Hamber to post the entire content of his email to me, but the gist of it is as follows:

Bilt-Hamber does not recommend the use of Auto Balm on textured plastics.

And now, with Pete's permission, the email:

    Hi Karl,

On textured plastics a high build up of film formers are deposited in the
voids, as they cure slowly in thicker layers the deposits take some time to
reach their final light colour, The depressions in the plastics make this
impossible to control. To remove the deposits you will need to use a
alkaline detergent, plenty of hot water in conjunction with a stiff
    fine-bristled brush.

The use of the product on plastics is advocated by some, but we believe the
use of it on textured plastics is best avoided for this reason.

    Hope this is of assistance.
