the durability is not much to speak of used on its own. a couple coats of jetseal will get you a couple months, but nothing crazy. topped with a nice nuba, maybe add another month. but then again i've had two coats of blackfire WD on my GTI now for a couple months, the car is filthy dirty, and it still beads like a son of a bitch.

to the OP: just go with the multiple coats of sealant topped with a quality nuba route like everyone stated. for customer cars i do, i have been mainly sticking to just layering sealant, and will only top with a nuba if its a combo i know for a fact works well together and will really make that much of a difference in looks. i dont really use or categorize nubas in the "durable" category so much anymore. for my own car, i usually end up topping with a nuba, as i have too many to not use them, and i enjoy applying wax too much to not do it haha.

Organic Wax - Carnauba (Brasilia) Wax - is an organic (containing carbons) or natural product, a vegetable wax (fat) wax derived from the fronds of the carnauba palm, Copernicia prunifera, a plant native to and grown only in the north-eastern Brazilian states of Piauí, Ceará, and Rio Grande do Norte. It is known as "queen of waxes” and usually comes in the form of hard yellow-brown flakes. It is obtained from the fronds of the carnauba palm by collecting them, beating them to loosen the wax, then refining the wax.

Non-Organic Wax- these synthetic waxes are formulated with polymers, which are more durable than organic waxes. Synthetic waxes commonly mix low amounts of cleaners with high amounts of U.V. inhibitors to create the same protective layer that carnauba do. Synthetic wax creates a high gloss while carnauba waxes give a warm and wet looking finish e.g. Finish Kare FK1000P is a non-organic wax with a 250.oF melting point

Looks are very subjective and some would say that that a wax is 'warm', wereas a polymer looks 'plastic'.

Like previous posters I use a polymer for durability and a wax for 'looks'

I find that I get better environmental protection from wax, and a car with wax will wash clean easier than with sealant. When I used Zaino I liked the looks but always found the car didn't wash clean easyily and bird bombs and bug guts seem to damage the paint quicker than when I use a wax as a LSP.

Has anyone else had this experience or am I just crazy?

I do find that using a combo like Duragloss 501 topped with a wax (#16, 915) to be bullet proof!!!

Werkstat AJT topped with Collinite 845 provides some great durability and shine. I have a black suv, so that should help you.

It,s been over a month and the water still beads very nicely on this combo.

I like Jetseal 109 and then a high percentage carnauba. You get protaction, looks, and great beading. It's the best of all worlds IMHO. A little more work, but that's what it's all about isn't it?
