Vw GTI R confirmed coming to the states!!!

I'm thinking 4 door as well. Although I'm not really even sure what exactly I will do when the time comes....my plan before this came out was to buy a used B8 S4 or something new when my GTI is paid off. But now that this came up I'm torn.

 

Wow, GTI+260hp+4WD? Seems like a killer combo, I'm going to have to look into this.

 

I love VDubs but the reason I didn't get the GTI and got my Mazda3 was because of price. Eventhough I own a Mazda I am not biased I have always loved Dubs and would die to have a nice GTI but you can get a speed3 with 263 hp for around $24K the only not translative characteristic would be the 4WD and I know there are other things this will have that the speed3 wont but still, $34K just seems like a lot for something like this.

 

The R is definately a car VW had to bring to North America.

That said, I see no reason trading in my 2010 GTI with a few APR upgrades in for an R (that will be slower). Yea AWD is nice but IMO not worth it.

The car is pretty hot for a hatch.

They will probably charge too much for it like they did with the Mk V R32, but

very cool they will do the 4 door version this time.
