I have a 55" Samsung mounted on my wall and I REALLY LOVE IT!! At 1st I had some "ghosting" but after doing some research on my settings I have taken care of that problem = no more ghosting!
That's like 2 years old though. I know different models are made by different companies and Samsung was making at least one model for them
Misha, If your response about "3rd party" was meant to be at JohnnyB, I am pretty sure he meant 3D ready.... new technology, Discovery Channel and ESPN are both launching 3d channels.... ESPN will be launching this summer When deciding on 1080p vs 720p, everything I read says that you should base your decision on: #1: The size of the TV you are getting #2: How far your veiwing distance will be... small set &/or far distance and you wont be able to see the difference between 1080P and 720p.... at least that is what my readings have shown
Yeah we went with a 720 50" because we did not have many digital cables but then ended up gettign tons of HD channels and now wish we would of went with a 1080.
This is exactly why I posted that link. It depends on your viewing distance. As long as you follow the chart that I linked, it should decide whether a 720p or a 1080p set is more suitable for you. What's also a good rule of thumb to determine your ideal TV set without your peripheral vision cutting off the sides of the TV is to multiply the size of the TV by 2.5 and divide it by 12 (inches) to get your distance in feet. So for example, a 50" TV will roughly give you slightly under 10.5 feet (50 x 2.5 = 125; 125 / 12 = 10-5/12 feet).
was at sams club today and there was a sony and samsung LED flatscreens TV's side by side, the samsungs picture was alot clearer and crisp and the colors were more vibrant. while i do own some sony products and like them, i wouldn't hesitate to buy the samsung equivalent next time around. samsung is just getting better and better at what they do (cell phones, etc, etc,) these days...
in my house we have 2 LCD tvs (samsung and sharp) and one plasma (LG). i really like all of them, but my favorite is the samsung. it just looks amazing and has a great picture. i heard that visio just buys all of the previous years panels up for use in their tvs. They are probably a good deal for the price. My friend has a visio that we game on regularly and i have no complaints.
