The ValuGard and FK systems are intended for the same thing - getting all the silicon based crap, waxes, greases(though they arent THAT strong), and then dissolving any general metal fall out and contamination, not just railcar dust. Its a kinda sorta read between the lines - hence the 2nd step being an Acidic wash ie Alkaline neutralizer.

Just a TIP for those who are new to this. USE THIS in shaded/cool weather. DO NOT WORK this product in the sun, surface should be cool to the touch. Don't let the product dry as well. PLEASE RTFM if you planning to use ~any decontamination~ system and don't go into unless you understand proper procedure FWIW....

You are right. This stuff needs to be respected and one must follow the instructions, or RTFM, as you said. Here are a few older links where it is discussed:

does this come with any kind of detailed instructions for proper use? and with the third step...can any wash soap be used for this or does it have to be the special pH neutral soap?

im a little confused about this from a start to finish perspective....would you start off the car with just this kit, or would one want to foam the car first or anything prior?
