I thought some of you would be interested in the current project of turboing our Honda Prelude! I will up date it if people are interested Let me know what you think! Well apart from the injectors and a few minor bit's most of the required goodies are now here to start my 5th gen turbo project, so i thought i would start a good ol "exspensive way to destroy your engine" thread for those interested  The basic plan is - to have this fitted and tuned at around 7psi within the next 2-3 weeks running stock internals (for now) whilst retaing all accesories such as A/C etc......although we all know it will take about 2-3 months. I will try and include everything along the way and be as imformative as possible with idea's etc to help others if they decide boost is ftw! Ok so the car - 97 5th gen 2.2 vti (H22A5) 96,500 mls otc. Firstly my compression test: 1 = 200 2 = 215 3 = 215 4 = 218 Not perfect but less than 10% variation which is said to be cut off point for FI. "Basic" Kit List: Turbonetics T3/T4 stage 2 .63AR ceramic ball bearing turbo Turbonetics 35mm wastegate Turbonetics raptor BOV Treadstone cast manifold Treadstone TR8 intercooler Treadstone 2.5" charge piping/silicone coupler kit Treadstone downpipe kit Treadstone Goodridge braided oil line/fittings kit R/C 550cc saturated injectors Walbro 255lph fuel pump AEM EMS 30-1020 (stand alone management system) updated to new PRO software AEM UEGO wideband A/F controller gauge AEM SERIAL DATA gauge and a few other little non exciting things such as new Manifold gasket, heat wrap etc etc...... Ok, so now I'll chuck in a few pic's for ya and add more to the thread as progress is made. Wish me luck! note: that manifold is not being used now....... You can see in this pic that the charge pipe off the turbo will drop down through the inner wing using the hole that the oem washer bottle neck went through which has been made a bigger. There isn't enough space to run the intercooler piping past the original washer bottle, so it was removed and a much smaller substitute was fabricated to take its place Just waiting for treadstone manifold to turn up now, then the project will really start to kick off! Il keep you posted
I will keep it updated, its got a type s prelude interior which here in the UK is quite hard to come by! I stumbled accross it on ebay and it had to be had
A few years ago I was looking for a project and was looking for a Prelude or CRX. I stumbled across a very neglected CRX but at an incredible price so I bought that and brought it back to life. Kind of wish now I had kept searching for a Prelude as with it having a backseat and all. Used the CRX for taking my daughter to school but when my son started this year...well no where for him to sit in the CRX so it had to go:acry2:. And type S's are hard to find period.
Ah no, not on there, feel free to add the link What are the web address for these sites, i will get my other half to sign up and post up more in depth if you think people will definatly be interested?
Shame that the CRX had to go but atleast you gave it the lease of life it needed!! Preludes are a nice car, i wasn't sure at first but now i love it! It is my other halfs pride and joy.... he cleared my mums garage out so it wasn't out over the winter!
here's one - they are a good bunch Gen7Accord Club // Index And here is another - much the same tempermant as here on DB - just a good / well mannered group of people: Drive Accord Honda Forums - Powered by vBulletin Even though both are "Accord" boards they are all "honda" fan boys/girls at heart so they like to see this kind of stuff
Thats cool, link this thread up and we'll see what they have to say Will get him to sign up when he gets home, he'll be really chuffed that people are taking a interest in this thread
