Tomorrow I'm supposed to help my friend fix a rock chip on the fender of his white Dodge Ram, anyone have suggestions to make it come out as near perfect or unnoticeable as possible? Trying to avoid wet sanding so just curious as to what pad and what not I could use to smoth it out and make it great again
Well you pretty much have to sand, and it's not a one day process assuming it's standard touch-up paint. You'll put a small blob on, and the blob will sink and flatten out over-time, after which you'll need another coat until it's level or slightly above the paint. One trick I use is using a credit card or something similar to swipe off the top of the blob to leave it level. Also, make sure you throughly clean out the spot first with IPA.
