Since I have searched high and low for the best tire dressing, I've accumulated quite a few over the years. Why not put my four favorites head to head?

    1) Tropi-Care Tire & Trim Dressing ($9.95 for 16 oz.)
    2) Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Dressing ($15.95 for 32 oz.)
    3) Adam's VRT ($14.95 for 16 oz.)
    4) Zaino Z-16 ($12.95 for 16 oz)

    - Tires were all washed and scrubbed w/ an APC
    - New applicators were used for each tires/dressing

    Tire 1, undressed w/ Tropi-Care:

    Tire 2, undressed w/ Optimum:

    Tire 3, undressed w/ Adam's

    Tire 4, undressed w/ Zaino

    1st LAYER:
    Tire 1, one layer w/ Tropi-Care:

Tire 2, one layer w/ Optimum:

    Tire 3, one layer w/ Adam's:

Tire 4, one layer w/ Zaino:

    2nd LAYER:
    Tire 1, two layers w/ Tropi-Care:

Tire 2, two layers w/ Optimum:

    Tire 3, two layers w/ Adam's:

Tire 4, two layers w/ Zaino:

Tropi-Care on the front, Optimum in the back:

    - I found that all tire dressings looked blotchy and uneven upon first layer
    - The second layer after 5 minutes removed any uneven application
    - The Zaino smells amazing!
    - I found the Optimum to be too thick, and difficult to apply
    - Easiest to apply was the Tropi-Care, as it's cheap enough to put in a Viton spray bottle and apply away.
    - I was amazed how little Zaino was required.

I will be updating everyone upon my next wash to test durability.

    Stay tuned!

They all look a little too "glossy" for my taste. I actually buff my tires off after the dressing has sat ffor a little whiel. Do you ever do that?

I like a deep, "flat" black kinda look, if you know what I mean.

Optimum Opti-Bond is my favorite tire dressing since I started using it. The first time I used it I cut it 3 to 1 with distilled water. I felt that it was losing its durability when diluted. So I started using it straight. I think the reason why it wasn't spreading so well was because you were using a new applicator. Once it gets primed and saturated with product, it uses very very little.

Nice review, as I'm currently looking at a new tire dressing. I'm bored of Optimum, time to try something new

+1 on the Opti-Bond application. It's almost like a Kevin Brown application here. Saturate the applicator with Opti-Bond and you're good to go from there.

Great review! If you test another batch of 4, you should include FK108. It looks just as good :)

Thanks for the review P1et...looking forward to the durability results. I'm going to stick with CG VRP for the time being. 16oz is only $9, and a gallon is only $25.
