Will you be paying cash for the new car or have payments? If payments, you are going to have to figure the total monthly cost - gas/payment vs just gas now.

I am assuming you will do a straight swap between you current car and your "new" car, right? As in, you've either got yours paid off now and with the money you will sell it for, you will buy your new car. Or, your payments will stay the same.

Otherwise, you might have to get a LOT better fuel mileage to make up the difference.

well if i sell my car, im getting salvage title civic and my friend is doing reconstruction for me or i might help out. he said that 06+ civic should cost about 7K at the end, maybe little more (i had reconstructed cars in past from his shop and didnt had problems. i looked and i can sell my car for about 9-10k (plus if i sell it before timing belt and clutch needs to be replaced ill save about $1100)

i have acura legend GS brakes in front on my accord, might fit on civic. i also have 3 pairs of Acura RL 4 piston brakes that will fit on civic as well
already looking into all options for civic. want to get EX so i dont have to swap rear drums for disks

Cash. curent car was paid for at the dealer the day i bought it. dont like doing loans couse they screw you anyway

car was paid for at dealer. i bought it for about 18k 3 years ago. had 8k trade in for my previous car, now i can only sell it for 10k or so. pretty big value drop in 3 years. not sure why though. i might have to get new car and then sell this one or sell this and drive one of our other cars and get "new" car and rebuild it quick
