Hey guys, I just returned from my vacation which took me to florida for the week and then coming back up we stopped by charleston for a day to see some family friends (i call them cousins) and check out the school.

I fell in love with charleston! I absolutely LOVE it!!!! Have any of you guys been there/live there?

Right now it is my #1 school to go to. I have a year to think about it but right now its my favorite. It also doesnt hurt that we know the GM at the BMW/Mini/Volvo dealer down there either. haha

I live in CharleSton and love it. I do not live downtown but I can get there in about 15 min. Let me know of any questions. So you can get me a steal on a bmw? Lol.

I lived in Charleston for six years. It's a charming, lovely city. It oozes with history and ambience. Great dining. Be sure to try the Shrimp & Grits at Magnolias.

The high humidity is a killer, though.

The College of Charleston is a good school.

My friend went to CofC and was obsessed with it. I hear nothing but good things about the area and all that.

Their ribs are pretty good, but I think you can find better ribs in the Charleston area.

But what you have to try is the mustard-based BBQ sandwiches at either Bessenger's or Melvin's. My kids all got converted to mustard-based BBQ. I still prefer NC vinegar-based BBQ, but the mustard-based is great.

And then you have to find a hole-in-the-wall seafood restaurant in Shem Creek called the Wreck. It doesn't even have a sign, but all the locals know where it is.

It sounds like Charleston is some kind of mystical fairy tale.

Next time we go back we will have to try the places you recommended!

After that, I honestly cant wait to get the hell out of high school.

I felt the same way until I got out of high school. Don't take it for granted, trust me. College is great though! Always something to look forward to. My best advice although it may sound cliche is to make the best of it, make sure you take in as much as you can. I can't stress that enough.

As the locals say: Charleston is the city where the Ashley and Cooper Rivers come together to form the Atlantic Ocean.

I might consider driving down and getting ribs. It's like a 10 hour drive.

I suggest applying to as many colleges as you can and then visiting the ones you are accepted too, rather than setting a heart on one. Visit many schools i was sold on going to school in chicago and then i visited Arizona State and was blown away. I decided to go there next year.

In my honest opinion, choose the best school that suits your major/program. That is why you're going to college after all right?

eh, last weekend was kinda chilly but in the end it was awesome! I was so impressed with the business school! I know its not in the top schools but it was very good looking.

haha. That sounds like a cliche haha.

But yea I think you and I are similar then haha.

haha I pulled them up at the end of the trimester! The only class I had a D in was chemistry so I was a slightly happy haha.

Eh, i disagree with your idea. I would like to be pretty planned out and visit the colleges I apply to to see which one I would want to go to. With that you realise which one is your favorite and apply early decision and also go to the college and speak with a rep to get an interview (what my cousin did with college of charleston) which may pay... :) I have a few tricks up my sleeve for that haha.

Absolutely! I am going to be majoring in business. I am probably going to apply straight to the business school because I know thats what my passion is. Im thinking GW, high point (not very good but an interesting school), charleston, miami... hmm and a few others.
