Texting While Walking: How Distracted Pedestrians Are Hurting Themselves

distracted pedestrians in NYC getting hit by cars has quadrupled. it's easy enough to get clipped by a mirror or bus without texting or emailing. I am guilty of both and walking and driving, my work demands constant communications i have almost walked into many parking meters. I have recently begun tossing my phone in my glove box while driving to avoid txt or talking.

 

That's a good plan... Pedestrians should share equally in the responsibility of their own safety rather then make it solely the responsibility of the driver...

 

spending is an understatement, they just give that money away LOL

 

I bet you can count on your fingers how many people are charged with distracted driving a month. Speeding tickets are just too easy of a revenue stream for the Government.

 

Nice point. As of now, the consequences in most places are laughable.

 

Yeah no kidding! They do blitzes every month it seems like... easy money for the gov for sure.
