    whoa,

So many posts. I need to catch up. I personally have a seat from crappy tire. It isn't too bad but it just doesn't go low enough.

A lift would be ideal. I am looking at the snap on lift. There seems to be so many generic lifts that are just re branded so I am iffy about getting one of those. I like the idea that I can lock out the lift. I don't want something falling on me lol.

btw thanks for all the answers. I'll keep researching.

Btw yikes the rakatac is uber expensive. I wonder if I could fab one lol. Bike seat? Check, foam knee pads? Check. Balls to weld? umm... maybe I can get someone else to do that part lol.

Yeah but I look at it as an investment .As it saves my back .So it will save me Dr visits and alot of pain in the future. At 47 Its not going to get easier .

The Racatac is definitely expensive, but having 4 back surgeries, it was money well spent for me.

Question is the Racatac the one that dsms uses? If it's not the little stool that dsms uses looks neat :thumb:

Racatac has a distributor here in Toronto however I don't understand how it would help to do lower panels. I mean what's the difference with getting a foam pad for your knees or knee pads? On another note I don't mix well with bike seats lol. If i did get a racatac I would have to get an oversized one :waiting:

I mean I still have to lean forward and my back would still take the pressure of leaning forwards.

Looks like i may resort to a lift lol. Any lift distributors in Canada? :p

Actually I say dsms posts some pictures of him self on the Racatac, I'm really curious to see how this thing works..oooh..ooh even better post a video

As for lifts, there are lots to choose from here in Canada, I got my eye on a couple of them I'll post them up but I can't at the moment so I'll pos the ones I'm considering at the end of the day :peace: The Snap-on lift is really nice but there are other that will get the job done, like anything these days you pay more for the name...but at the same time you get what you pay for and Snapon has proven it's self, just my :2cents:

I can't seem to find the snap on mid rise lift anymore which is odd. I saw them a couple of months back. I await the lift suggestions carlos :p They better be good... or else

Isn't your back sore attacking the lower panels? I know the pneumatic is perfect for upper panels or even the mid points but the lower panels I find myself sitting on the floor and stretching at the lower panels :p

That is what I use. I took the back and arms off it it so it is not just an adjustable stool.

I also have a floor jack and four jack stands I use while polishing. After I finish the roof, I jack the car up about 18 inches or so. When doing that, I can polish the upper half of the panels at chest level while sitting on the "stool" set at its lowest setting and I can polish the lower half of the panels while sitting on the floor also about about chest level.

    Brent thanks for the info.

How long does it take you to jack the car up?

With a two ton floor jack, no time at all, a few minutes maybe? I just slide the jack under one side, jack it up with about a dozen jacks (is that what it is called?), put a jack stand in the front and the rear then go to the other side and repeat.

Now, if I didn't have a floor jack and had to use the type of jacks that are with a spare tire, that would be a pain in the butt and I probably would not bother.

Thanks Brentb, I'm going to head into a friends garage to get some tips on either your suggestion or a midrise lift. Thanks again for the suggestion. :mounty:

What is a midrise lift? Is that the type of lift that you drive the car over and it lifts the car with hydrolics? I would love to have one of those but I have to think they are insanely expensive.

Oh yea that guy has the best creeper seat:giggle:

Yes the racatac is a great seat, creeper. I use it for wheel cleaning and polishing as well. Relieves the pressure on the lower back which not many seats do. Its expensive but a quality product and its super light!:thumb:

Did you get the 2" or 3" casters? Im thinkin the 3" would be best.

Ok so... I did some research and found this creeper seat similar to racatac but with more cushioning and can be doubled as a chest pad as well.

I'm just bringing this to everyones attention. I have no intentions of buying. It is so expensive lol. I was quoted at $600+ CDN.
