How about sizes? 5.5", 6.5", which should I get for my main polishing and then the smaller polishing pads?

 

I personally prefer anything under 6". So what machine are you going with?

 

Just ordered the Makita with a 3M backing plate and a normal 4" some Megiuars pads and some 5.5" and 4" Uber pads, P203S, M105, PO85RD, and some various other things that everyone suggested. I would have got 3M Ultrafina, but I only ordered from ADS(still need to place the order) and DD and neither had it. I'll pick it up in the future tho, definitely look forward to detailing some cars and getting more active on the forum.

Not sure if it's too late, something to consider where you're located...

In really hot conditions, the Menz can really act up. It's important IMHO that you have some flexiblity in your polishes.

In addition to my Menz Products, I have M105 and 3mUF. I also want to pick up some M205.

 

No not at all. I heard about Menz acting up, which may be a problem for me because it can get hot on some days during the summer, but I'm in PA so it's not a major issue. For some larger cars I may need to work in my driveway under a tent. I saw a guy on Autopia (David Fermani) use some fans to help out, but he was in an airplane hanger.

I'm going to probably pick up a sample of 205 now for those days that it is just heat wave temp, so thanks for the heads up :headbang:
