Did you have some very fine sanding marks in the 3rd and 4th to last pictures, the door comparison to the back panel? Or is that some sort of residue from a wipedown?

i noticed that too, might be sanding marks since it was getting close to edge of panel and i didnt wana put too much pressure on polisher

It kinda looks like mini water drops. What did you wipe the panel with?

You went close to the edges on all the panels, I've seen most people just leave about an inch all around for safety...

Wetsanded my hood today and applied CQuartz, looks sick, i can say its mile deep, cant wait to see it once it rains, coating is like RainX on super steroids as you can see from fender video

after 2000 and then 3000 grit
starting to polish with rotary and wool pad

after wool pad on PC for final compounding.
after polishing with SIP, 203 and 106 on different pads
    [IMG]

washed car with Dawn to remove all polishing oils to get it ready for CQuartz application
    [IMG]

applied coating, waited 30 min at 30C to cure, wiped off, left car under gas heater for 2 more hours to let it cure more, coating should be completely cured in 48hours

    Nice work!

I usually leave a pinky space around edges. I just drop my pinky on the side of the block and use it as a guide to stay away from the edge. When doing air sanding I use a 3/4" tape around the edges as a guide. But that's only on factory clear coats. On custom paint I usually know the painters work so I'll know if they lay heavy clear. Since most of the custom jobs I do are for car clubs or semi show I know they are using a lot of clear to bury lines and fades.
