Not to get off topic, but I've seen alot of good reviews on thhose Continentals...looking for those to replace the OE bridgetsone turanza EL400s...gotta be the worse tire ever. Unbelieable having that tire on a 306hp RWD car, no grip in wet and not great in the dry.
After that snow yesterday, my Highlander looks absolutely gross. I think I'll need 2 washes to get all the gross stuff off.
I had to go into Vancouver this morning for a small job. When I left my car was mint. Got back and just touching the trunk lid made me queasy. Had to wash it. Plus, its not going to get above zero for four days and I am NOT driving a dirty car that long!
yeah get em, i highly recommend em. Not too pricey (comparing to michelins especially). Its holding up to wetness and slush quite well so far. lol man theres gonna be quite a bit of black ice around cuz we're not going back above 0. My cars are dirty as hell cuz i've havent had time to wash em after lectures especially with the rain we had before it snowed Anyhow its ONR garage season, everyday is a washing day with WARM ONR SOLUTION. harhar  Oh and Ken that Werkstat Glos QD spray i grabbed from ya earlier has washing properties so i dont need to ONR before hand for not so dirty panels yah? I have no confidence in my understanding of labels LOL
Quick Wash is the Werkstat product designed for waterless washing although the Glos will do on panels that aren't that dirty. I'd suggest, regardless of your chosen product, that you go to a pressure washing bay and get rid of most of the loose grit before washing.
Went through a half frozen mudfield last night. On top of grime and salt from the snow, now I have mud... ugghhh........ Not to mention the weather going to be frozen until at least Friday and I have to drive to the salt storm of SFU Burnaby Mountain every day.
I suppose its the Jetta that you were driving that day? Touching the car? I don't think you would even want to be close to my car right now. It was filthy when you saw it that day.... now its.... There is no word to describe it, I would say a nightmare for most detailers. I would have done something about it if I wasn't so busy. Time to set up FOUR heaters in the garage so I can do some detailing....
real men detail in the garage with just a jacket and fingers crossed that things will cure LOL Actually I dont have any plugin heaters so i'll have to get a blowdryer if i am to do some LSP but yeah, salt paradise at UBC as well, had a salt truck in front of me today on SW Marine and i be like why am i seeing stuff fall out until I finally figured out it was a salt truck, I overtook it right away. I did have a quick wipe down on my GLK yesterday but man the body needs claying. We're not getting warmer till... Thursday at least, we're getting colder tomorrow. But god knows, we may get snow again instead of rain at the end of the week again. I would pretty much rather it snow again at the moment, ALOT of ice on the floor and I be staring at the road for ice while I drive.
I'm actually expecting it to snow... Weather reports are anything but accurate when it comes to winter weather. Had a good taste of that in 08. Just the fact that the weather forecast for the coming week changes by the hour just backs up my belief. I'll bet you I'm probably the only one in Vancouver who drives a Highlander like a truck and not a mall crawler.
LOL I bet you I used to be the only person in Vancouver who drove a Mazda 5 like a Formula 1 race car and a Rally car. Had such good times with shitty tires and traction control-less car with a too much torque 4AT. :headbang: I do drive my GLK like a truck unlike the other old women with em.
-4 outside when I was walking to class this morning. What makes it even better is our classroom had no heat because something was broken this morning. Everybody has their jackets on then after the break the teacher just said go home because don't want us to freeze to death here. There's no way to concentrate when its so damn cold that I'm just busy shaking. The plastic chair was so cold I can feel it thru my @$$. :campfire:
its -3ish @ UBC andddd our computer science building actually has no heaters that i know of concrete building ahahaha
Hahahaha win! Sat in a Mazda5 at an autocross before, it was pretty cool! At least there are computers providing some morsel of heat! Stay in the computer lab! The SFU computer labs are always way too hot. Or hug ur laptop lol! On a negative note, SFU decided that this year they are to be very cheap and cover the ground with gravel instead of salty water like before. Then they realized it ain't gonna work and called in the trucks to cover the grounds with salty fluids. Now we get bombard not just salt, but salty rocks and pebbles. At least it just started snowing again.
mmm the snow shall spread over to richmond tonight i guess lol and no i was not in the building with the labs so it was extra cold lol But really who in their right mind would use gravel instead of salt :S theyre increasing the chance of people getting stuck cuz of clearance lol salt rock pebbles mmmmm DONT WANTS
it's nice and warm inside sfu but as soon as u walk out the wind chill is craaaazy! haha and I washed my car yesterday and I had a few water drop froze as I was drying the car
A lot of places use gravel because it provides grip in slippery, horrible to the body and undercarriage of the car though. -6C in SFU and occasional flurries. My hydraulic power steering refuses to work properly cause its too cold, needs to be warmed up :campfire:
