If your really worried about the metal scratching, buy a sprayable rubber coating and tape off the bristles and handle and spray away

Dylan, Have you guys tried a solid delrin plastic handle? I guarantee it would have a very good feel, it may be more expensive but would never fail, On top of that a delrin handle with a Teflon coating would be even better it would have good weight and the Teflon would give a slight texture to it, plus with Teflon you can spray any color like red or something sweet like that

It's a good thing you guys don't have me incharge of brush design I got so many idea's for great wheel brushes I would never be able to come up with something perfect lol

Escpecialy if I have a machine shop o great it would be so fun for me lol

I know you have great CS, but the cost of shipping it back could very well be the cost of the product...

Yeah so instead of a $20 brush, we'd have a $50 one!!! haha LOL

    Not a bad idea.

Even better!! Maybe just as easy to grab a fistfull of rubber bands and wrap them around a few times. Like I said, I haven't had any issues but the spokes I've been near for the mostpart have had sufficient openings to get the brush in no problem. Obviously, as you can tell from the vid - the 22's on my truck have very wide gaps between the spokes.

Honestly, I didn't. The manufacture specializes in brushes, but they have very limited plastics capabilities. I'll bring it up, but we're so late in the design now it might be too late to go back... if the wood handles become an issue then maybe we'll revisit in in a ver 2.0 form... we're constantly testing and improving products. The average product lifespan in our line is 2 years with the exception of some cornerstone products like detail spray.

I guarantee it would be solid, delrin is not expensive if bought in thousands of feet. But you could get real crazy and machine the feret or whatever you call it lol and the handle as one piece, the thread the ferret thing on the inside, the make a separate piece with a thread and attach the boars hair to it. After that got to an adheasive company and get a strong, but a adhesive which once you warm it up you can loosen, so the bristles are replaceable

I got endless amount of ideas, but yes my brushes would be very expensive lol, I have experience in the medical device industry they use many very complicated methods but they can bond everything to almost anything with few exceptions, there is so many ways to attach stuff it's endless

I keep meaning to put a delrin shaft on one of my swissvax brush but can't seem to find time and when I do I forget lol, problem with plastic is that unless you have a cnc it's tough to create really nice handle shapes, but with a cnc you can create whatever you want so awsome, designing stuff is so fun as long as you can be creative you can do anything

Gets expensive though......it's all part of the game but yes I would have a hard time selling a $50 wheel brush

No worries Michael. Not sure why the collar would have come off. Like I said, I've been using mine in straight wheel acid etc for over a year and I haven't had a single bristle come out. I'll send a new set for you and see if these are any better. You may have gotten a bad batch.

Nice! Depending on price, I'd be in for one or two. My SV brush is great, but the red plastic is on its last legs:(

that's what I'm talking about, Ken is the man! I had my RG brushes for a little while and don't have any issues with them. I love them! By the way, Ken, I got my package from you today, and RG mitt feels amazing! I'll be trying it out on my wife's jet black E46 325Ci this weekend, as it really needs a wash. Thanks for AG SRP sample!

Dylan, thanks for the nice video and explanation. I would like to pre-oder one or two brushes if that is a possibility.

Thought i haven't used the RG brushes, all the SV brushes that we have here at the shop, have cracked ferrules or they are completely missing. One SV brush we have the epoxy broke apart and the brush is no longer functional, i'll take pics later and post.

Hmm... I had the reverse happen to me. I had the metal Swissvax fall apart on me, but after a year of neglect and abuse the Raceglaze barely split on the plastic. 75% of the time I don't wash the chemicals out of it until the next session (lazy I know). Perhaps you got a defective set?

Is there any shrink tubing as used in electrical connections large enough?

I'm with Ken, I have used my RG brushes numerous times with harsh chemicals and the only time the threads came out was the first time I used them.

Yeap, never had any problems with my RG brushes. My SV brushes on the other hand have lost a heck lot of bristles.
