That is a 3M 5.25" I split up a lot of 40 with Pektel and Reflect, and Dave got his from Reflect at the meet I'm guessing lol... nice pads, very soft... if a finishing pad with almost no cut.

Not the insane sale they had before... but the price on the wool pads is reasonable and they are a good wool pad, I like them WAY better than PFW...

I know I am reviving an old thread but I just wanted to say thanks Dave for the second video. I liked how you went into depth with your explanation on how to polish properly. I am trying to learn how to properly polish with a rotary, specifically the makita 9227c. This video is a great help and I will apply your techniques when I get the makita.

Hi Dave .. i just picked up on this thread too. Found it very useful. I'm also going to move from my PC to the Makita... doesn't look too hard to control and i really liked your tip of keeping the pad size relatively close to the size of the backing plate... Bravo !

I'm surprised I never saw this video but yes KK is correct those are the Detailer Guy pads. Worst decision ever made to bring one out during the meet. I put one on my rotary and Dave was going to demonstrate finishing down and BOOM, I go from 25 pads to like 6 haha.

This video is several years old and my technique here really isn't very good. For a better look at rotary polishing My more recent videos are better

Do you still use those black pads? Every now and then I try and convince him to sell me a bulk amount and I'll pass along the savings on here.

Nice to see this brought back up for various reasons. Nice to see then and now videos on how the process was used as well equipment wise also, and additionally correcting a method to benefit others to maybe try themselves. I also appreciate the honesty and humbleness in the delivery of the presentation. Very appreciative of time you have devoted to help others.:applause:

Even the second video you posted on page 2 of this thread its only 10 months old at least thats what it says on youtube, where you explained that in the first video you were polishing incorrectly that the one I was going by?

You are correct, the second video (Gray shirt, white SUV) is the better technique video... the initial video on the M3 is crap

Ok cool thanks Dave I have seen some of your videos as well you do some really great work on some very nice vehicles. I am surprised because I seem to be around the same age as you. Yet you already have established a great name and business for your self congrats on that man.:thumb:

Haha:yikes: I am 25 man. I have been wanting to start my own business since I cant seem to find any positions in Finance. Yet with me being between positions right now and being low on funds at the moment, it doesn't seem to be possible anytime soon:shakehead::duh:
