Time to Vent.... Why do Canadians get screwed when ever they purchase something at a retail store? I wish it was as easy as.. 1. I want something 2. I go buy it at the closest store. Of coarse if I simply did the above I would get ripped off. Here are some examples, Last summer I bought a new John Deere 26HP 60" Lawn Tractor in Buffalo NY, it was $2200 (On sale at Lowes)! The exact same Tractor at MY local John Deere dealer, $4800. Free trade remember?? I buy a LOT of tools, an example comes from today. I needed a Bi-Metal Hole Saw kit so I shot out to Home Depot. They had a real nice 13 piece kit with case by RIGID for $139.97. As usual I held off until I do a rape check online. I get home and looky here, 13 Piece Bi-Metal Hole Saw Set - 7040 at The Home Depot Same dam kit, $69.97 I try to make our prices as fair as I can, why can't other companies do the same?
For the same reason GM charges us 67000 for new trucks when a short drive across the border you can get the same truck for 20-25000 less............ Up untill now our dollar was roughly 25sents on the dollar...add that to outrageous shipping and brokerage fees and theres the newly adjusted CANADIAN pricing. What absolutley pisses me off is the US suppliers that say free shipping on all orders over say $75 in the US only....OK fine.....I live 1.5hrs north of the border. That same supplier will charge me $40 to ship something to me. Not to mention I wont see it for 2-4 weeks. I could go on forever how theres no such thing as free trade....thats a friggin one way street with no street lights and one way traffic....:argue:
they see an opportunity to make even more money so they jump on it. It's very unfortunate; if we want to support our own economy we lose money. If we don't want to spend that money we have to go through other hoops in order to bring the things across....Ie the RIV bull patootie
