Yes, sorry! The weather was very nice (16C yesterday) and after I was done washing and drying the truck, I was too tempted not to. Glad I did, she looked fantastic afterwards. Love using this wax.
Hoping this weekend the weather is good, I may have to do another coat as well, just smells to good! But, I do need to learn how to apply it uber thing as last time because of how soft it was I was wasting a bit to much I think. But I do have a panel sitting outside on my patio, 50/50 with one side no LSP, other side has 2x coats of Insig cleaned with CF. Beet outside for a month now and still beads great, no LSP side well no surprise there just a pool of water.
I use the Uber Red Wax Applicator: http://www.detailersdomain.com/uberredwaxapplicatorpad.aspx At first I was shocked at how large this was, but it's tough to put too much wax on there. Also, because it's so big, it's actually very easy to move it around on the paint. Looking at my pot of Insignis, and after doing my truck twice with it, it looks 99% full still. I just plop the applicator on the wax, pat it once, and it's enough for another panel.
I will have to try it out, I have one of those laying around somewhere. Just found it being so soft it is pretty easy to swipe off alot haha....I am use to working with wax's like RBOE and FK1000P which are all pretty hard.
This stuff looks great from the videos and peoples impressions on it. I wish it wasn't so expensive since I am looking to get into the higher end waxes!
Hey P1et, did you use the swissvax cleaner fluid first or do anything else ( polish, has wax on already ect. ) before applying the Insignis? Thanks, Ian
I put down a coat of OD Glaze, then BF sealant and then the Insiknis. The cleaner fluid isnt a must, but its nice to use.
Been running a few test over the last 2 months with Insignis. Test 1: 1x coat 845, 1x coat Insignis (24 hrs apart) -Washed car over weekend car still sheeting/beading as tight as when I applied it. This is after 2 snow storms and having salt/slag on the car for 2 weeks before i got to rinse it off. Test 2: One panel on my GTI just had 2x coats Insignis (24 hrs apart) -Same results as test 1 Test 3: Panel sit out on my front patio, CF, 2x Insignis 12 hrs apart -Beading and sheeting as new; if there is difference not much can be seen. Soap that was used to wash the car was Opt Car Wash and in Test 3 Megs #00 wash was sprayed on and rinsed to get dirt off and it actually got most of it off under hose pressure. Not as detailed and dont have the cool pics as Piet but just some more "data" Hope you dont mind me posting this in your thread Piet.
Good to know, I was thinking once I polish my car when this bad weather stops I was going to use Collinite 845 first then top it with Insignis. I think using 845 first really makes the top layer of wax pop even more and the beading is just insane!
I have personally not had any experience with topping 845. On my truck, I had an old layer of 845 was was on its way out. I did not clay, polish or do anything before slapping on Insignis. I have two layers on there now. LOVING IT!
good to know! I really want to repaint the front of my car and do some polshing before i use my Insignis. Cant wait!
lovely truck you have, sir. I drove a 2500 cummins HD 4x4 for three summers at my old construction job. Dodge and cummins earned my respect over those years. 3500 lbs of stone in the back of the thing at one point!
845 + Insignis is a great combo. Another great combo I tried out the other day is FK1000P + Insignis.
