I think what you will really get marring from is Megs "fake wool" wash mitt...it's like grit 3000 sand paper, believe me, I used it...will never use it again.

overall, sounds like a good mitt to try out...the softest ones I used so far were sheepskin mitts, very soft, but the inside dries out and hardens, making it very unconfortable to use.
That's why I switched to foam mitts and sponges.

Ah, thanks for the correction Ben! Looks like I have yet another item to add to my list of things to buy from you Ben, hehe. Since I haven't ordered from you yet, the list is getting quite large! :giggle:

I have never used a artificial wool mitt before and never planed too. But after this comment I will start warning people against them.

I always thought that real sheepskin to be the safest medium for washing but it seems like a lot of you are sponge users. Interesting very interesting. :shead:

it's so called "ultra plush wash mitt" feels kinda soft on a first few washes, but with wash after wash it hardens and will marr the heck out of soft paint or any other paint. Simply stay away from this junk!!!

    Synthetic does sound scary.

Sheepskin/Lambswool mitts are great for removing polishing dust. I recently tried my Uber Sheepskin mitt in that capacity and was very pleased. Just a light swipe is all it took, then I used a MF to wipe off the residue.

Looking forward to the Merino wool impression ddoc!
