Not this shit again. Enough with the bespoke containers, please just provide a wax that is somehow at least marginally better than some of the already top botch products out there (in plastic jar) and let us save the money by placing it in.... a plastic jar!

Oh and that looks absolutely nothing like a ferrari oil cap.

PS.... im sorry guys I didnt read the part where the case is laser etched, okay now you have my $300 :sorry:

I am personally waiting for Race Glaze Purple Label. Just talked to Jay-Z and he's down for a pot as well.

I've ordered a jar in and will post pics and a review when it arrives. (Dave, have a look at a oil filler cap on a 360.)

Nice to see you on here Mark, welcome :thumb:

My take on exclusive waxes is quite simple. Whilst I have always wanted to own something special, I have resisted because I honestly wonder how much they could possibly cost to produce (value for money essentially).

I look at it like this...Do I spend $300 on a Swissvax wax in a plastic container, or do I buy something for similar money (that is in all likely just as good, if not better) but comes in a bespoke, custom crafted container? Whilst I agree that the container doesn't add anything to the actual quality of the contents, it does give me something to show for my money (if you understand what I mean) :thumb:

The Raceglaze products have thus far impressed me...I am sure my tub of Black Label will do as well :applause2:

Roy, what's your take on the wax?

I have a pre-production sample (similar to yours I would imagine) that I have yet to use :campfire:

Classic Ken...Always on the ball :D

This would go great with a bottle of Johnnie Walker.

I actually absolutely agree Dave... only thing that bugs me about this is that the emphasis has been placed more so on the container than the wax itself (similar to the CG wax in that bomb proof container of theirs)

.... if this wax provided an outstanding look with ease of use and durability, a wax worthy of a high price THEN was marketed in conjunction with a fancy case I would have no problem spending the money on it as you are right, I will be getting a little extra something of intrinsic value but I cant help but feel this may be a fantastic $100 wax with a $175 case. In which case I would just rather have that same good quality wax in a plastic jar and keep the $175, lol. Another piece of info that intrigued me was the "silicone free" claim.

I believe most all nubas have a silicone polymer in them, and that there is nothing wrong with having silicone in your LSP as it causes no harm to the paint. Silicone polymers supposedly makes waxes easier to apply and remove, another selling point stated for this product is how its easy on and easy off. So its a carnauba wax that is extremely easy to put on and take off, yet does not contain any silicone oils or polymers? Also does anyone feel a bit uneasy walking around a car with a 600g pot of metal in your hand opposed to a plastic jar weighing maybe 1/4 the weight? If you drop it that is a dent for sure.

I dont mean to be negative and I honestly hope this is a quality product, from what people say about RG 55 I have no doubt this will be. I just hope the future of quality products is not revolved around expensive cases, again I would rather have that same quality product in something plastic and save myself the extra coin.

I agree Dave, that is why I appreciate a wax like Lusso Oro. It is very fair in price, comes in a simple plastic container which keeps cost down, and it works each and everytime while easily competing with waxes 5 timse its price. I really appreciate my Zymol Concours for the experience but it always bugs me now that there are waxes that are better for much less.

Personally, I am not really as intrigued about flagship waxes as I am about the recent mainstream emergence of nano technology in the form of Gtechniq/Nanolex/Aquartz just to name a few. I think that many hobby/professional detailers overtime stop buying the latest and greatest and begin to stick with products that work well and produce great results while having enough value (not just price related either) to be worth their weight.

Nice looking container. Just my suggestion, maybe make a plastic jar version as well as the current version? Kind of like how Supernatual is, plastic = not refillable, metal = refillable.

    agreed!

there's nothing wrong with a plastic jar, and one where the wax can easily slide out in one piece to facilitate machine app - lusso wins here

i started out using high priced waxes like concorso and mystery, put up with the poor durability and water spots only weeks after app, and now only to find something like natty's red applied after a good glaze like Clearkote's looks even better and is more durable. For me, that's more enjoyable than buying another expensive wax

i dont see the attraction with these fancy tubs. And if it is meant to be a 275 pound "display piece", i ask the simple question, race who? imo only SV and Zymol have the brand cachet to pull that off

Don't forget Sam, at one point people were asking "who the hell is Zymol?" as well. As Zymol started in the US market and had to expand into Europe, RG has a good following in the UK and now is expanding into the US.

yes but at end of the day, this RG wax is more than 4 times the price of a proven Zymol staple like Glasur

if this wax really is that special, why not put it in a more affordable/accessible panel pot size and let the end user decide

RG already has 55 which will compete with Glasur and sells at the same price point. The point of Black label was to create a high end wax to compete with the expensive offerings from Swissvax and Zymol at a more affordable price. I agree that it would be nice to be able to choose between the two containers as well.

All valid points I agree. I'm not too fused about dropping the container as the RG waxes are typically soft and a little goes a very long way. I usually leave my container on top of one of my work bins as I work around the car :thumb:

Would be nice to have the same wax in a budget container, but in all honesty I would probably splash out and get the fancy tub anyways. I've yet to spend a significant amount on a wax, so I may as well do it properly the 1st time :D

I am over the expensive wax syndrome... No direspect to anyone that is still there, We must all go through it at one point

I have supernatural & royale and have had various other offerings from Z and SV and I still reach for a sealant 90% of the time...

Unless a customer specifially wants to move up to an upsell of a high end wax they het sealant...

I'm the same way. No sense in spending so much when the end result is the same... which is it protects the vehicle. Anything under $100 I consider reasonable but anything over, I usually dismiss.
