man those pads do look sweet. I'd be in for that little BP and pads. Hopefully its not too expensive like other Gloss It products.

Thats a very good point. You should actually wear ear protection when operating anything. I know my hearing isn't what it used to be after 14 years of using p-washers, vacuums and polishers daily. It isn't just the high decibel noises that will do damage. Constant droning at any noise level will do damage.

It is a good point. I road raced for several years with NASA and SCCA. I usually forgot to wear hearing protection...and my hearing is much worse for that.

I'd take the suggestion one step further, and suggest eye protection as well. I don't know if any of you wear contacts, but I do. And I can tell you that getting polishing dust between a contact and your eye is pretty miserable.

Yeah, I think it's about time I start wearing protection now. The machine noise and polishing dust has been taking its toll since I've been working on the race car trailer. Along with the eye and ear protection, I'll probably start wearing some sort of respirator/filter element as well but I need to find out what I need for my application.

I am doing the same thing. Ears/Eyes/and a mask of sorts.

Let me know what kind of filter element you are going to get. I am interested what would be good for our applications as well.

I now see Gloss-it has added a green and red pad, how are these? Does the green fall between the white and blue? Since you and Richie seem to be the gloss-it guys, which pads do you like the best?

The green pad falls between the yellow heavy polishing pad and the blue finishing pad actually. Its a designated polishing pad, offers a nice bit of cut with a medium polish but still can leave a nice gloss with a true finishing polish, the foam itself is a bit thicker than the white, yellow and blue ones.

The red pad is 100ppi which is just like the gold lake country pad. I use the red for applying sealants with the flex random but if you use them for jeweling they work great:thumb:

cool thanks, which colors do you recommend, i probably wont be buying one of each color thats why. Usually like to get a nice compounding pad, medium polsihing, and jewling pad. Which do you feel is better for the jeweling, the blue or red?

Simple... go with the white fast cut foam pad, green polishing pad and the red 100ppi pad for jeweling its the bomb, if you need a little bit of cut to take out some holos or micro marring than the blue finishing pad is really great, just a tad more cut than the red 100ppi.
