I also like scratch & swirl B-gone with a cutting pad followed by pro polish and polishing pad. Top it with petes 53, that's a hard combo to beat. IMO

 

Danase Wet Glaze. Looks absolutely amazing. And the look lasts when topped with a quality carnauba.

 

For me i would have to say
Grout Sponge from Lowes the (Poline One) to wash car with
1Z einszett (Metallic Polish wax & Glanz Wax )
Sonus (Carnauba Detailing Spritz Spray)

 

No I don't think that you are alone. I agree that there are many high quality products available but do not feel let down if a new product does not reach my expected goal. Usually even a failed product works to some extent. Even my least favorite paste wax made my vehicle shiny. Not for long but it was shiny.

The real stand out for my particular way of maintaining a clean vehicle is Poorboy's S&W. Nothing works better, nothing is easier, and nothing is more fun to use than S&W. No mixing, no shaking, works with any product and always produces the same result using quality microfiber towels.

 

The ones that have really impressed me are all Einszett products:

Victoria Concours: Seriously underrated wax. Easy on/off. Wetness and deepens color. Pretty durable for a "high end" wax (~6-8 weeks)

Menzerna 106ff : no need to write a book about it

FK425: I will never buy any other QD

P21S TAW: Just wash the grim melt away. Can get costly but it works like a charm. I dilute it 1:1 and still works fine for most jobs
