Product Review: Danase Assassin Wheel&Tire Cleaner

This product should be used with care as it is a Hydrofluoric based product. Gloves, eye wear and a well ventilated area are all needed for use of this product.

It is a ready to use product, meaning, no dilution is needed but, if the wheels you are working on are not that bad I would imagine carefully diluting it would be advisable.

Hmm....interesting product. It sorta reminds me of an OTC brand Castrol Super Clean Wheel Cleaner. I loved the stuff but I haven't used it since I moved to NC. Question....do you have to worry about etching? Btw, be careful with a product like that on wheels that use sticky wheel weights. It will eat through the adhesive. I had that issue when I had both Audi's and now my Benz.

I have used it before, it works very well and for $9, you can't beat the price.

i have no clue about cg but i would be scared to use a product sooo potent..esp if any get's stuck in my brake pads.. but i will say i am impressed with the pics with no agitation..esp the inside part of the wheel. i think this may be a good product for extremely dirty wheels with etch marks.

 

When I used it, it was a regular sprayer, when use it next time, I plan to use a foamer head so the product can dwell on the surface better.

 

I haven't had any problems with it. Just for experimentation, when I get home I am going to spray some on the hood of my work truck and let it sit there over night and see what happens. This work truck is 15 years hold and is beyond hope in detailing (numerous dents, scratches, some rust and has been in two accidents) so I often will use it as a victim of my experiments.

 

As Jason mentioned this is a hydrofluoric (acid) based product. Make sure you wear gloves, eye wear, and use in a well ventilated area.

Not trying to scare anyone from using these types of wheel cleaners, just want you all to stay safe. Heed this excerpt from the source I linked at the end:
