I've been meaning to try some of their polishes and sealants for quite some time now. Problem is, I have a full Menzerna arsenal, and recently fell in love with Power Lock, that I just couldn't justify the purchase of more stuff. However, I'd be in for a polish or 2 and a sealant, such as Banana Gloss. Count me in for 50-75 or so.
I think it would be good to put swirl in the intro kit because it has such great versatility. Swirl in combination with the green uber or CCS pad are both awesome combos. Even that with the orange pad can get some serious correction done.
Intro Kit definitely has to include Swirl and Amigo. You can't have one without the other (just got a Married w/ Children flashback writing that.)
Ok, so as promised, here is a short blurb on each of the following Prima Products. Swirl: Is a light to moderate polish. It is abrasive, and according to Prima has the ability to remove 1500 grit sanding marks or finer. Aside from its correction ability, this polish really impressed me with it's deep cleaning ability. I don't know what's in it but this stuff really cleans out the paint. It has become my go to polish on white vehicles, it makes whites whiter. LOL. Swirl is easy to use both via rotary and DA. Swiirl can be used as a swirl remover or finishing polish depending on the pad you use. Amigo: Amigo is a synthetic glaze that adds darkness and gloss to the paint, without muting metallic flake. It is impressive on dark, flat colored vehicles. Amigo can be applied by hand, but I prefer using it via PC. This glaze has very mild cleaners that can eliminate light holograms. It also fills in swirls very well with long lasting polymers. Clarity: Is a nice glass cleaner that produces crystal clear, streak free results every time. Banana Gloss Is a nice carnauba based liquid wax. The great thing about it is its ease of application. It dries quickly and leaves a a great finish. BG has amazing swirl filling capabilities also, its definitely a great topper wax. Although durability is stated to be about a month, you will have no problem waxing every month with this as its just too easy. Epic Epic is a very durable sealant with awesome optical clarity. It leaves a slick finish, produces good beading and is easy to apply and remove. The only thing Its missing is an appealing scent. It smells too much like most sealants. This stuff is really durable. Mystique Is by far one of my favorite washes. I love the scent of this stuff, its intoxicating. This is a great highly concentrated wash that won't strip wax. Mystique has ample lubrication and quality suds, but not too sudsy. Its an awesome maintenance wash.
Wow, this might actually happen. I've been mildly curious about Prima stuff for a long time, but I agree with Flux that it would be a PITA to have to order direct every time. Now that this has been brought up I've gone from mildly curious to pretty damn excited. I've put a self-imposed ban on buying more products lately, but I might have to make an exception here!
I voted no. It seems every product Prima has there is a top quality equivalent in the DD store already. One of the things I like most about DD is that there arent 10 different kinds of products for the same task, only a few that are all very good. Prima - DD already carried items Mystique = Lusso Auto Bathe Hydro = Adams QD, Opt QD, 1Z spray wax Prima Polishes = All of Menzerna Line, M105 + 205, Einzett polishes, Adams Polishes Nero Glass Cleaner = Lusso Glass Polish spray or Adams glass cleaner Epic = Powerlock or Einzett Glanz Pretty much all of the above are tough products to beat and as nice as it is for DD to have a diverse selection, sometimes less is more. Just my opinion, Phil of course will make the final call (he hasnt been wrong lately in choosing new stuff... Kwazar bottles, Sonax etc)
But I don't like lusso or Adams. Why only carry one type of product from one vendor? Others have different attributes that some might find they like better. As for the Adams comparison, all their comparable products are about 20% higher in cost than prima. 1Z polishes never impressed me. I have tins of them from 2003 and they all seemed more like chemical cleaners than abrasive polishes.
Definitely. Just not right away for me. I gotta use up some other stuff before replacing my gallon containers of other things .
I would be interested in gallons for the amount that I use, would be a cost savings for me over time.
