Pressure Washer's

My Karcher 5.85M has been going strong, and that autoglos cannon I got is nothingshort of amazing. Here's a pic:

 

I'm about to buy the same unit as Joey has.... picking it up today. How do you get the water out after usage. Maybe i'm not understanding what that means.

Interesting thread. Now I'm torn between getting this CleanForce one :http://www.homedepot.ca/product/electric-power-washer-1800-psi/988939 or the Homelite one described.

CleanForce - 1800psi, 1.6GPM = 2880ECU
Homelite - 1700psi, 1.3GPM = 2210ECU

However from what I've read, the Homelite has the hydrosurge feature that utilizes the second hose attached to the pw hose to dispense low pressure water alone or at the same time as using the high pressure spray, resulting in higher GPM output. How well does this feature work? Haha by any chance have you guys put in some of your own soap into the soap injector to see what kind of foam it would produce, if any?

 

I use the "Hydro-Surge" in combination with the PW and alone all the time. Alone, it works great to rinse out small crevices like lug nut holes in rims without getting sprayed. And with the PW, it makes for a lot of water rinsing the car at once, making sure it's done right. However, I have not yet used the foap dispenser, simply because I have a foam cannon. I will try it this morning and post back later to see how well it works. My gues is not very well compared to a foam cannon though

Many thanks for the reply and uploading a video so quickly! Lmao at the conclusion, "it foams like shit". Looks like I'll go pick up this PW tomorrow. I have a foam cannon too but was just curious if it would be any good in case mine ever dies on me.

i'm glad this thread has helped others with their pressure washing needs. Perhaps we can keep this going. There really are tons of choices between gas and electric . . . . virtually atleast 100 different pressure washers to choose from. Reasearch is key though. I still haven't pulled the trigger yet.

 

I've used the Homelite 1700psi quite a few times already and like it a lot. The hydrosurge is a handy feature and helps rinse off the car easily twice as fast in comparison to only have the pressured stream.

Question, what do you guys mean by clearing the water out after each usage? After I'm done, I'll turn off the machine and unplug everything. Then I pull the trigger until no more water drips out. Is there another method to extract all the water from the lines?

 

I do the exact same thing. It's simply to releave pressure from the lines and let the fittings and hoses "rest" while not in use. That's all.

 

I release the pressure from the nozzle and then run the unit 20 to 30 seconds with the water supply and lance hose disconnected per the pressure washer maker's instructions. Some water does come out.

 

I would suggest you get a good one if ypu plan to run it daily. Make sure it has a Brass Pump Head or it will just crap out on you in short order. Karcher, Kranzel and others all make a good unit. Some companies like Karcher make a cheap and commercial line. the Karcher @ home depot stuff is plain junk.
