Guys, I don't think "the peanut gallery" meant anything mean. I think he was saying that this was such an enormous amount of work and attention to detail, that it should be considered a complete restoration, which, by my books at least, is ABOVE a detail.


I nominate this for detail of the year 2011. It is by far one, if not THE best detail I've seen all year.



P.S.: "Restore" is the proper spelling

I understand what you're saying. However, I have noticed in a few comments/posts that frankiman's English and grammar are not the best, which is why I figured he didn't mean any harm and that he simply had trouble finding the right words to get his point across. This car is undeniably back to better-than-perfect state and frankiman cannot be blind to that fact. I just think that what he meant, would it have been in proper wording, was that this was such an extensive and perfectionist-type job, that it is beyond what is defined by "detailing." If he meant otherwise, then I retract my statements defending him.

Flat out stunning work I have to say this is one of the best write ups of the year. That 993 has truly been restored cosmetically!

 

I want to thank all for your kind comments , im overwhelmed.

We are a crew of 2 people , me and my wife because is a bit too hard to find help that really likes what we are doing.
The car had to be repainted in 60 % of the area and get some body repairs for the cracked bumpers and near front window , all rubber seals ( inside and outside )of front and rear windows were replaced , bumper seals , etc.

The owner wanted to have an almost new car and for that we apply the detailing philosofy as we always do.
The sad thing is we all more trouble correcting the newly repainted parts than the original....
