I have a question concering clear coat impact of a finishing polish.

I have compounded my car twice, and polished it 3-4 times. Would using a product like Menzerna PO85RD with a white pad on a PC 7424XP cause much clear coat to be removed?

I am asking because normally my car does not need anything stronger than this or MAYBE M205. I would imagine such a light polish as PO85RD would cause very little, if any, clear coat to be removed.

85rd and a finishing pad will not remove much clear if you work it for the right amount of time at the right pressure.

Hey whats up man nice to see you here. I suggest in the future you invest in a PTG, at least like the Highline II it wont read the hood, deck lid or bumpers on our mustangs but the rest of the panels it will. I think you will be fine with using 85rd to clean it up just try using it with a blue or black pad from now on instead to help lessen the cut. You might want to try AG SRP in place of it from time to time and then just put a coat of BFWD over it.

Alright, sounds good. Thanks for the tips.

After about 4 months the car usually has some water spots, blemishes and things that just can't be removed by a wash. I tent to hit it with PO85RD once every 4-5 months just to clean up the paint, remove the micro marring, and prep for the glaze, sealant, and wax.

No wonder that paint is so glossy :)

85rd on a white pad will not remove a measurable amount of clear coat.
