so i go to my garage today to do a "spur of the moment correction job" that kinda just fell into my lap yesterday. i had turned the heat on yesterday to warm the place up for the job today and i walk in and its freezing cold in the shop. the heater is not running....i forget what the manufacturer of the heater is, buts a mounted electric unit for commercial use. its mounted up in the corner towards the ceiling. checked the breakers and all that. it was so damn cold that i couldn't do the job obviously (thermostat said it was only 25 degrees in the shop). needless to say im pretty pissed off. gotta go back tomorrow and figure this out.... (thankfully the customer is a friend of mine and was very understanding) i CANNOT WAIT for spring.
No freaking kidding! I struggled mightily the past two days with the cold. Clay lube freezing on the vehicle...plastic cleaner turning to ice inside a cupholder...ugh. Still...I think I'd rather it be cold than a million degrees outside...
It was 88 today in SoCal and i thought it was cold this morning (60) when i was washing the car :doh:
Now that I have a heater in my garage, I can't see my self going back the way I used to detail. I wouldn't know what to do if my heater broke :scared: I'm curious as to what is the problem with your heater, keep us posted please.
Are you sure its electric. Typically the ceiling mounted units are electric powered, but GAS fired. Your pilot light is most likely out if thats the case. Either way, that just plain sucks.:campfire:
i agree, it was like 30 here all week, but thankfully toyota has a nice warm shop for me to work in hope everything works out with the heater!!!

could be. i havent looked at it that closely yet. i dont think there is a gas line running into the unit. it was already installed when i got the lease on the property.
good to know. i'm going to go over to the shop again tomorrow morning with my camera and take some pics of the unit and the control etc for reference. hopefully you might be able to point me in the right direction :help: thanks for all the WARM wishes guys (had to say it, just out of spite haha).
It was prolly 62 or 3 here in New Mexico today...i feel sorry for you guys in the negatives, i cant even imagine!! Im sorry bout your heater..let us know the damage please
