Welcome to Facebook Today’s client is a 2003 Mercedes-Benz E320 in Brilliant Silver. The car is used as a daily driver and the owner also has a bit of land and a few animals so the car in his own words is “well used”. The main purpose of its visit was to bring back the shine and revive the interior to its former glory. On chatting with the customer we decided on a Medium external correction and full interior detail. However he could not spare the car to do it all in one go so it was left that we would attend to the interior, engine bay, the dents and scrapes and then revisit the exterior a few weeks later. On arrival it is obvious to see the paint has lost all of its sparkle and has masses of tar staining and a few dings that also need attention. First job was to remove the trim for repaint and get the car clean for our dent man to work his magic. Then it was into the studio to attack the interior: Process involved. • Initial vacuum to remove dirt. • Then all surfaces steam cleaned and scrubbed • Test patches checked. All ok! • Roof lining wiped with dilute Reflection Perfection APC and a cloth then dry foam interior cleaner used and vacced with extractor. • Carpets scrubbed with interior cleaner and wiped clean then wet vacced and re wiped. • Stubborn patched worked with steam cleaner and re-extracted and wiped clean. • All leather cleaned with Gliptone leather cleaner and then fed with Gliptone leather conditioner. Here are the pics, On arrival: Interior Before: Time for a wash: Now that’s what I call tar!! Slight scuff mark: Engine Bay Before: Seat 50:50. Seat After: Seat Belt During Clean: Interior After: Boot After: Engine Bay After: A few weeks later the car returned for the external Correction, unfortunately the front bumper had bee damaged after being repaired so the owner said to leave it as it was until another time. Unfortunately the marks in the paint would not show up in the pictures but it was not to badly marked with just general swirling and a few RDS that needed attention. There was however evidence of a bad repair on the rear arch with a visible join line in the paint that needed to be treated with care. Process used: • Reflection Perfection Polishing pad with Megs 105 (2pea sized blobs). • Spread at 600rpm • Begin working at 1200rpm, light pressure to get residue evenly spread to start correction. • Work at 2000rpm, medium pressure working up to heavy pressure towards the end. • As residue began to go clear, reduce pressure for a couple of final passes at 2000rpm. • Reduce speed to 1200rpm. Then for perfecting the finish • This was again using the Reflection Perfection Polishing pad with Megs 105 (2pea sized blobs). using the same process as above • Finally to sharpen the Finish I used 3M Perfect-it Machine polish on a Blue 3M waffle pad using the following method. • Spread at 600rpm • Start at 1200rpm, light pressure and slow movements evenly spreading the polish • Work at 1500rpm, medium pressure with steady movements. Then finally reducing pressure whilst speeding up machine movement • Refine at 1200rpm, light pressure and slow to medium movement. • Finally, burnish at 900rpm, with slow machine movements, with very light pressure. Here are the in process pictures: Notice the black line from the corner of the trim, this is a lacquer join (and a bad one at that) Pillars corrected: Taillights corrected: Nothing like a bit of dust!! Final wash down and then wiped with IPA for final inspection and any touch ups that may be required: LSP of choice today is NANOLEX PROFESSIONAL PAINT SEALANT that we are currently testing so this will be a perfect car to test it on.. Nice work! I like this W211 Series ..coz it have style ! Was the CDI engine sound like a bus? Dissel engine don't ring my bell!I pefer normal E320 This have the 954 (Avantgarde, which give firm suspension) It was abused, but you have recovered her to former glory!
