It's an education process. Until I discovered some of the detailing-oriented web site forums via the Mercedes Benz Club of America, I did not know that Meg's even HAD a pro line. I thought they just had the stuff I saw at the parts stores and discount retailers. It may be the same for a lot of car collectors and enthusiasts. Until you know that these better products exist, you won't use them. Even then, it depends on the level of interest. I'd bet that I'm probably one of 3 or 4 people in our local MB club that even owns a buffer. I'd imagine that among a typical cross-section of vehicle owners that some DIY, some use the auto-washes, some use a detail service, some let the dealer wash up the car...and some do nothing. :shakehead: Just human nature. I think too that some of the apathy towards proper paint care and correction is that a lot of the higher-end vehicles are leased. If a person knows that they will be upgrading in 2-3 years, they are less likley to give the car the attention it needs/deserves. [Even though it would keep the value up and prevent any penalties at the end of the lease] Two Cents.
