Yeah ill ne rephrasing that somehow. Gotta let people know I'm not just another hack, def gotta get that portfolio page straighted out with many more pictures.
I think your work speaks for itself, nobody is going to let you near an airplane unless you are at the top of your game, so that in itself speaks volumes. One thing a friend of mine who builds swimming pools does; is has an Ipad and high res. pics of his work etc. when he meets with a client he breaks out the Ipad and does not say a word, just letting them browse the pictures of his work sells the job. Buy I hear you, there is alot of "craigslist detailers" who hop down to walmart and buy some stuff and are doing 99.00 hack jobs......... and sadly it is hard sometimes on the surface for people to differentiate between the jokes and the legit detailers.
I have an ipad and that's a really damn good idea. And kyoshiro its ok I've been gone all weekend anyways, ill try and upload more pictures
The site itself is clean and quick to load. Those are major pluses and often overlooked. I see far too many slow, overly busy and visually congested sites. Kudos to Aldric. BUT The name thing could be a significant issue. If the guy in New Jersey can establish prior use or has trademarked the name you probably will be SOL if he decides to come after you. Unless you view the business as temporary I would either reach out to the guy in Jersey to try and reach a formal accord or make the name change now. Selling your business on price somewhat boxes you in. Yes, it will attract a certain stripe of customer but it will also put off others and it makes it difficult to raise your prices in the future. It also serves to piss off your competitors. I also don't think listing the products you use is a particularly sound strategy. It won't mean much to most people. Finally, you really do need someone with good editing skills to clean up spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, etc. before you go live.
The server can handle another hundred sites atleast and still won't take a hit in performance But yea it won't be oversold/overhost like most hosts out there that gives low prices per month (tho I'm free lol)
Completely agree with you on the spelling, that's what the girlfriend is for !! As for the name, once again If it was trademarked it would be blocked from BBB registry, seeing as it was not when I became an accredited business, it shouldn't be a problem.
If you expect to get any help around here or in almost any detailing forum I would suggest you change your name. David from Street Dreams (the real one) is well liked and very respected on any site I have frequented. He has a following that others DREAM OF and skills that go well beyond superior. Your infringing on that! Your about to make your bed so just be sure you ready to lie in it. Rant over.
When you tell potential clients, "I don't do this for a living" it really says to them....."I'm not good enough to be a professional so I just do it for fun or to make a few bucks" I would eliminate that phrase or idea totally. But I'm just a detailer what do I know, eh?
Like I've said before, we have VERY different clientel and live in different locations. I'm not posing as him nor trying to take away his business. Do a quick run though on the BBB website. There 27 different Street Dreams in the US.
