Well I finally decided to go and get a shop to work out of as well as doing my regular mobile thing. I'm getting more and more two and three day details so this will make it alot easier. The winters here are also getting colder and wetter so it will be nice to be inside. I actually had this shop three years ago, now I'm back. One of my best clients, a high end car audio shop, is next door. How convenient. The parking lot slopes away from my unit. Good for me, not so good for the guy across from me as thats where all the water pools. OOOPS! No really, its a safe neighborhood! As you can see, the landlord still has alot of crap to move out but as his wife is expecting, I'm not sure when it will happen. The detailing bay size is 18 x 29. I will putting in a mezzanine over this half of the shop for some other things I am looking into. I will post more pics as we progress. I'm hoping to have this shop up and running in the next four weeks so it's going to be a busy month.:thumb:
Oooh congrats :applause: looks like you'll have plenty of room to do all your detailing. If you need inspiration check out Rich's set up at Polished Bliss, from time to time I go and visit his website and look at how he's got his shop set up, I just love it. But I'm sure you have checked out his site I look forward to see how your shop turns out and congrats :applause:, mean wile I'm still working away at my garage.
Congrats Ken. Sure you have some nice plans for that shop. Is that the Dragon car poking its nose out in the first pic. haha
Why, yes. Yes it is. During the spring and summer, that car audio shop has sent me one or two full details a week. Great clients. The only downside is that I have to do the owners truck... a crew cab, long box Ford F350 with canopy, a 6" lift and 38s - weekly!:thud:
Very cool... Will be interested to see your progress getting it detail ready.. Sure would make for a cool thread.. best of luck to you!
thats awesome to hear bro!!! I've thought about getting a shop as well, but can't justify the cost of mobile and holding up a shop as well
Its funny you should say that. Its actually gotten to a point that its as expensive to run my van as it is to rent a building. If I bought the building, it would be less expensive than operating my van. How messed up is that?:shead:
That's awesome man. Congrats. Looks like its got some HIGH ceilings!!! Its crazy that its cheaper for you to rent a building than it is to do mobile.
