For the price, you could get a Fenix AND SunGun from Detailer's Domain!!!

I'll stick to my Brinkmann Dual Xenon light.

It would totally wash out the surface and on top of that, the reflection would be blinding.

I use a Maratac Extreme AA 9290 with a Q5 emitter and I have to lower it to about 50% power to get the best swirl finding light. I think about 80-90 lumens is optimal for hologram and swirl spotting.

I agree. I have the TK10 and find that at the turbo mode ( 225 lumens ) it just washes everything out on metallics. The 80 lumen low setting is a little low I find so I'll be trying a few more lights.

How does the TK10/11 work on solid colors, I know you said it washes it out on metallic on turbo as it has the flake to shake the light back, but how does it perform on a solid color?

Either one of the rechargeables should do the job for you. To answer your question regarding solids, the TK10(11) are fine on solids.

+1! I love my Brinkman...inexpensive and effective. Turn it sideways and it is great for 50/50 shots!!

Looked up the Marateac and its only $40, not a bad price.
