So ive got my EIN, ive filed for LLC. And insurance is happening this week. Once the ownership of my company is official in my state, i am going to open a business bank account as well. But i have a question for you pros....What type of business license, or any other license, is required when professionally detailing? I know this probably differs slightly from state to state but im not really sure what kind of license a detailer falls under. lol. Thanks in advance ModdedMach
When I opened up a detailing company for a friend we called NJ & the NJ-EPA and they didnt have a license remotely related to detailing & mobile detailing The only thing is the EPA asked when possible use a water reclamation mat but we never did and never had an issue, he would detail in parking lots all the time. I was really shocked because our state is a deep blue state. The only license he had was his sales & use tax license we had mounted on his trailer door along with his certificate of insurance. The only reason we had a sales tax license is because he sold care products like mitts,shampoo and quick detailer. In NJ at the time you didnt have to charge salestax on labor, since then its changed. Ide imagine since your in Gorgia and its a red state your not going to have much of anything. Just give the GA-EPA a call, im sure they will scratch their head and say use a water reclamation mat too. When we called the NJ-EPA the lady said mobile detailers are a grey area and are not regulated.
Its water, and all the soaps i use are environmentally friendly to my knowledge. So i dont think the EPA will care lol. You have to apply for a business license in person, so when i apply, at that point im sure, is when they will determined what kind of license i need.
I did my online but they called me and had to look at my set up to make no water was going down storm drain and then they signed off on my business.
Another thing to think about - depending on where you are using the water and the temps outside - a lot of this water may very well dry before it ever gets near the street and on to a drain. Using all bio-degradable products helps a lot too. I am sure you will have shut off valves on all of your water hoses so as to not be wasting water and sending all your stuff toward the drains too, right ? We all want to do our part to save the fish and the environment and all that good stuff.. Dan F
