How much do you spend a year? And what's in your collection already? I spend AT LEAST $1000 a year, and that's bare minimum and using sales...

This year around $100 or less. I now simply refuse to buy anything new unless I really will be using it - closet is filled with stuff, some of it has never been touched... I must have been around $600-$700 last year before I decided enough is enough and cut the spending spree short.

The second your missus starts complaining, detail one of your friend's cars. If they don't pay you, have them buy you product. Easy.

i have been spending about $1000-$1500 a year on supplies and equipment. This is all depending on how many customers i get for the year. This year i had to buy 2 new polishers backing plates which can bring the total up quick.

I'm just a weekend warrior, working on my own vehicles, probably spent $300-400. Too much, but it's fun.

I do my car, my parents, an a few friends cars.

A rough estimate of tools and product is easily over $1250 in the last year.

I do it part time, but as a legit business. Last year i spent $1600 and made $3900. This year I have already spent $3000 (bought a couple polishers, steamer, vacuum, pads) but I have already made $8500 so my spending reflects my profit. Since I have most of the tools I need now I'm looking forward to much larger profits and only needing to order stuff when I run out.

In about a year, I've spent roughly $2000, but this includes a new rotary polisher, a complete set of pads (20 or so - flat and CCS) an extractor, a vacuum and also includes the "start-up" items since I've started my own company. Next year should be quite a bit lower, my ball park guess is anywhere between $500-$600 a year from now on unless machines break and/or I upgrade to "baller" status with certain machines.
