Come on down bro. Are you thinking about coming down for DF? This will be interesting to follow. At least you don't have to tape off the trim! Wow, 500 grit?! What did they do, paint it with a roller? Looking forward to Hermann's car. Dig those SB cars.
Good luck with that. Should look awesome when you're done. I've got a roach, er , clients car that I'm doing some sanding on right now as well but for different reasons.
I am thinking about it, alot of people have bugged me about going. It is great not having to tape off trim, always a big bonus. The paint shrunk real funny in some areas so I just cut it with the 500 and went from there. I figured a few would like Hermann's car, it is a real nice piece. It should, especially for just a basic paint job it is actually turning out very well. Can't wait to see your roach job when you are finished. Thanks Dan.
How did I missed this one, it must be the beerfest going on here, dude it looks sweet and that wet sanding with that grit you got some big cajones to do.........Look's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You got to come on down for DF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:drinking2:::
I've been breaking Aspault Rockets chops all week to come down here.May have to send some people up north and kidnap him. What do you think zoomzoom
Thanks Phil Thabks Angelo, still thinking about coming down there, not sure though. It's just a plane ticket away-lol We will see, but you never know.
I have some updated pictures. This side is finished. The roof being wetsanded. This were I cut a hole in the plastic so I didn't splatter the rest of the car. Just a shot of the engine, I figured since it had a blower some might like to see that. This is for JL, he wanted to see what my buffer looked like after 20 some years of use. Half of the roof compounded. The roof completely compounded. Using 106ff. Finished shot of the roof. Another finished shot of the roof.
To the Jedi Master: Looks awesome from these pic's!, and i do miss my old school rotary. More please!......................DF coming in 6 1/2 weeks..........................:headbang:
Damn fine work bro! Those progress shots of the roof are killer. Just phenomenal polishing with one worked over buffer. That buffer has been rode hard and put up wet! Again great job.
Dammm Dana i'm speechless. So at this point i should't worry about you doing my vette LOL.To be honest i'm not surprised the work that comes out of you since everything you have advised me on has worked out so far and knowing the years you have been doing this i really didn't expect any thing less then what you are showing. But it still amazing what you can do with a car that started off like it did.Hats off again
Looking good bro! It's coming along nicely. The owner should be very happy with it. What's with the long Johns? That buffer has seen some miles! :rollinglaugh: My thoughts exactly JL!
