Well yes and no Scott. Here is my rationality on this. Now you detail part time and own your own detailing business that doesn’t mean your automatically a professional, I mean from a customers perspective you will be viewed as a professional but it doesn’t mean you are. Now don’t take offense because I’m not trying to be disrespectful at all. But we all remember a certain member at AG that said this "people pay me for my details therefore, I'm a pro" Well I'm sure we all agree that just because you get paid to “detail” that dosen’t automatically make you a pro. The thing is that if you own your own business and detail on a regular basis (pastime or full time) your skills are going to be much superior compared to a person who's just starting off on detailing. So to me it's not fair to have lets say your details competing with some one that is just posting there first detail ever. Well at least that's what I'm thinking, I do agree that members will look at other detailers that have more experience and learn from them, heck I know I did when I first started detailing but I think it’s good to have two different competitions because of the two different skill levels. Well let me know what you’re thoughts are, I’d like to hear more. D&D I'll answer your questions/concerns by breaking it appart. I agree with you on this paraphaf. I didn't say that Phil was a pro and that's why he's more then welcome to post his detail on the Monthly Competition lol I just went rambling on about what I was thinking lol. Well I agree with Wolf, there has to be a certain level of trust but if they do cheat weather it's editing there pictures or lying on there process, meaning they add steps that they actually don't do they will be withdrawn from the competition and will not be able to compete. Now I did say that they have to post a full detail explenation as to the products they used and well to be honest I'm expecting all memebers that post in the competitions to be honorable and honest. Also like Wolf said the people that are going to be judging are no stranger to details and know what too look for, so I'm confortable on trusting people. Oh one thing to note guys if you wish to post on the Pro competition you have to subscribe to it, meaning that if you consider your self to be a pro you will have to pay for the tittle, there are extra features that come with the upgrade and that's why it's geared up more for those that do this for a living. Take a look at the subscription you'll see what I mean. Here is a link http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/payments.php
Ya i totaly understand, i was kinda hinting in my last post that i wasnt a pro, lol, but i understand that i have alot more skills than someone that is just starting, so that still wouldnt be fair to some one that is just starting. Now a few things, i donno if you can do this, but set up a running poll for the next week or 2 weeks. That way you get a real time answer. Ask the question, should the contest be split up between pros and weekend warriors...answers are "yes" and "no"....just a suggestion. There is just to much confusion of pros and non pros. But i think at least making a poll will give you a true understanding on what people really want. let me know what you think man, this debate could go on for ever lol...good luck
Yea sorry I think I should have explained a bit more about the "Pro" title and how to get it. The pro section and competition will only be availble to those that choose to pay for it. I think this helps and I should have brought it up earlier :duh: but I hope it helps to distinguish the two..what do you guys think?
It's already open but no one has posted yet what gives? Well there are a few differences, on the Monthly Competition you may only enter one detail, on the Pro competition you can enter multiples. On the Monthly Competition if you win say January you have to wait 3 months before you can enter the competition again, in the Pro you can enter every month no waiting period. But to be honest there is one big difference, that's the prizes to be won :chest: :chest:
Well the way I see it if you pay for the title it's only fair that you get rewarded accordingly :thumb: Oh but no one will know what they have won till they receive there price :shh: :shh: I call it a Detailing Bliss surprise  I'm kidding I just want to keep you guys guessing
can we post a detail that we have done a while ago, or does it have to be one we have done this month..you prob already said that that but i dnt wanna go back and read
Post any detail you'd like, it dosen't have to be this month, any detail you want to post your more then welcome to do so :thumb: No worries I'm the same way lol
Can i just ask if we are allowed to eneter cars we did in say the summer as the weather in London is horrendous this time of year hence no details for a while??? And can it be a car i have already posted online as a detail.....In other words does it have to be a fresh unseen car??
lol thanks Motor :thumb: But yea any detail will do, it can be from 10 years ago if you'd like just as long as you were the one doing the detailing. This goes with out saying but I'll say it anyways. Once you post a detail it's obvious you can't use it again to enter the competition...I know, I know it's obvious but better say it then have someone use the same detail to enter the competition.
Um...:booboo: for some of you that have tried to post on the competition you may have received a message saying "you don't have the privelage to post" well something like that I accidently forgot to um..flick the switch lol..my bad if anyone has any issues posting here please let me know but all members should be able to post there entry now. Sorry for the oops :iddi: :flowers:
Well end of the month is finaly here, for those that are interested on entering you have one more day to do so. After January 31 (midnight) you wont be able to enter the January competition. I don't know but I think I'm more exited to give out the prices then the guys that entered the competition lol :cheerl:
