So we're 9 days from the wedding now. I have a few details booked to distract me, lol. I have my bachelor party pre-game tomorrow night, then Saturday night is my actual bachelor party -- I'm in trouble.

My parents have been working their butts off on the yard and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Everything is falling into place. Now I just have keep my feet warm ;)

haha, you will do alright. Umm....one tip....when you pre-game and on sat night please unplug your computer and ask someone to hide the cord. Remember the last time you got drunk and got on here.

Please don't book a detail on your wedding day, my cousin somehow scheduled a business meeting on the day he was getting married. Let just say when he found out and corrected it and we had a laugh but his wife was not so happy that it skipped his mind.

I'm taking a few days off before, the day of and probably a week after. booyah!

And for the drinking... yeah. I'll be at my bro's and he kills anyone who touches his computer, especially when drunk. So that probably won't happen. It might, though! You never know haha. I DO have a blackberry ;)

Would be pretty cool to Twitter while at the altar.... :)

Anyways, in the same boat. Got through the traditional ceremony stuff and it went by easily. Whats left is the official stuff and the reception.
    You'll get through it ;)

The hardest part will be the actual ceremony itself. But you will be fine. I got married in the company of people I didnt know, in a courthouse next door to a police station. now thats nerve racking.

Good luck, think positive, and best wishes to you and the future wifey :)

Woooahh You're 21 and getting married?! I guess thats true love.

Well you will be a little panicy, simply because now you are realizing that you are 1 month away from making it "official" that you're going to spend the rest of your life with her.

Every morning when you wake up, she'll be there..
When you eat breakfast, she'll be there..
When you walk the dog (if you have one), she'll be there..
If you secretly smoke weed, she'll be there..
When you detail your car at 2 in the morning, she'll be there.. (Possibly angry that you're not in bed).

    ..And the list goes on...

But the thing is, you're going to have one more person in your "pack" its like playing those old school double dragon games, you'll have someone to be there for you. I bet you, she's feeling the same way, wondering how its going to be because you guys have a LOOONG road ahead.

I think you're feeling this way maybe because you might have friends who're young and they're out there going to parties and wooing around, and you're at home just sitting there watching TV or your leaving the party early. You feel that when you get married, you're going to be restricted, that another "parent" figure might come in your life and you won't be able to do the things you regularly do. Its nerve racking I guess, but trust me, it'll be worth it..

You should have a weekend just by yourself or with your buddies, something like a pre-bachelor party, go to another city and stay the night. It'll be good if you go with married guys and ask them how they felt and how they feel now that they are married. It'll get your mind off it and when you come back, you can look at it from a different perspective.

Thats just what I think man, I don't know don't listen to what I say if it sounds stupid I don't want to have you get in trouble or anything, this seemed like an interesting thread and since I had Psych as an elective I thought I show some stuff I learned.

Anyways man, congrats on the marriage and good luck!

Been married 8 years. Still awesome.

FWIW, the best advice I could give is to understand that:

    A) It's permanent. Otherwise you're another dysfunctional Springer family, etc.
    B) Your a TEAM. It really is you and her against the world. It will come down to that often and if you can remember that, you'll be much better.

Although she would never ask it, I would trash all my cars, hobbies and "things I love" for her in a second if needed. If we had to move to Japan (for the record, she ain't Japanse) for some reason because of her and I had to ditch everything, that'd be fine. 'Cause when it happens to one of us it happens to both.

None of these things are expected to happen, but you're got to think that she is as important as you. That makes all the little things easy: honesty, faithfulness, respect, etc.

Likewise, this needs to be a two way street. As much as society like to piss on the guy, chicks can be jackasses all day long. If she doesn't share this view, I think a couple are screwed.

That's just my formula. Tons of people have done it their way and it has all worked out fine. Just saying what works for me.

    Good luck!

I would sell my car (who I've had longer than her, lol) if she asked me to. I would pack up and sell everything and move where ever she wanted me to if she asked.

I'm ready for married life, but I'd be concerned if I WASN'T nervous about this. It's going to be great. We are a team, we make decisions together. She lets me run my business as I see fit, except lately she's been taking all the profits for the wedding. :catfight: Oh well, business is going well so there will be more.

It's been a hell of a ride, and I'm excited for what's to come.

Waaaaay too much to drink. When your best man says "DRINK!" and you say "NO!" And he kicks you in the balls? Yeah. That sucks. So I drank. A lot.
