I go to meets on a fairly regular basis and can tell you all of the guys that come to the meet care about how their cars look and usually take very good care of them. It could be a great place to drum up business.

Having pictures of cars you have corrected speaks volumes to potential clients about your skills as well.

It did not stop Dave(DSMS) from getting started, age is a number that is only a negative if allowed. Try these steps.

    1.Decide
2.Action(get the Lexus you are buying in the "best" condition possible)
3.Design a business card on overnight prints dot com
4.Have the right gear(as funds will allow)
5.Peruse this forum for any and ALL information you can get
6.Practice your craft on all your freetime possible
7.Go to all car events you are interested in and be seen consistantly(however do not be a spammer/annoying guy)

These basic steps will get you started, it will take time and effort so be patient......good luck in the future.

I know I'm late to respond, but I will say this. In a general population, no specific subject in common, no one will take you seriously unless you're 25 and have a job. However, in a situtation like this, the only factor is YOU. You need to prove that you CAN hang with a crew older than you. Go for the fun, stay because you want, come back if you want. It's all about you. Don't try to market yourself right away though. Wait until you have already started talking with some of the people and you've opened a door or 2.

Very true! Right after I purchase "A" car I will try to document my correction, claying, sealing etc. as I already have the tools and knowledge to get it done, but still to need to practice my correction process. And for sure, I'll go, just I think I'd rather get it meet them, chill etc. and then open the door to my possible business. And I think I need to learn stick so I can park the cars in the garage from the driveway etc. As I know it will come in handy!
